With the release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, both new and returning players can finally immerse themselves in the all-new remastered version of GTA San Andreas with improved lighting effects and graphics. However, dining at restaurants, going clothes shopping, plus hitting the gym aren't the only ways players can lose themselves in the game, as there are also several women that CJ can start romances with.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was a landmark in gaming for so many reasons. On top of the fun and addictive gameplay, Rockstar Games really dug deep into creating an interesting narrative filled with some of the most memorable Grand Theft Auto characters, as the game follows CJ and it expertly shows his feelings and relationship with not only other gang members but with several intriguing women throughout the story.
How To Get CJ a Girlfriend in GTA: San Andreas
There are up to six women that CJ can start relationships with, and there are certain conditions that need to be met before he can establish a love affair with each of them. Primarily, players will need to advance in the story to open new areas and gain access to every potential romance option in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition. Having said that, this is only required for two out of the six women, whereas the other ladies are encountered during gameplay rather than being attached to missions.
Every Girlfriend in GTA: San Andreas
Starting with the two girlfriends that are tied into the story, Denise Robinson is the first girlfriend CJ will have in the game. Now famously mocked for her poor graphics in the GTA Trilogy, Denise makes an appearance during the mission "Burning Desire." After saving her life, she will now be up for going on a date with CJ, which rewards the player with the Hustler vehicle and a pimp suit.
Onto one of the strangest moments in GTA history, the girlfriend Millie Perkins is encountered during the mission "Key to Her Heart." This level sees CJ set up a heist of a mob-owned casino, and to gain access to the building, he needs a keycard. Therefore, Carl learns that the hard way that he must hook up with one of the casino's croupiers. To win over her affection and the keycard, CJ must wear a "gimp" suit during their "special time."
Now, the following girlfriends can be found throughout the map and are not linked to narrative progression like those prior. It should also be noted that each woman has their own exclusive perks and rewards for dating them:
- Michelle Cannes - At the Doherty driving school. She rewards CJ with free access to her version of a Pay 'n' Spray garage, and a racer's tracksuit.
- Barbara Schternvart - Inside the El Quebrados police station. She rewards CJ with a police outfit that allows him to access vehicle impounds without becoming wanted.
- Katie Zhan - Near the San Fierro Gym golf course. She rewards CJ with a medic uniform, and the ability to keep his weapons after dying.
- Helena Wankstein - At the Ammu-Nation store in Blueberry. She rewards CJ with complete access to the cars on her farm, along with rural clothes.
How to Get CJ to Date a Girlfriend in GTA: San Andreas
Once a bond has been made with either of the women, a heart icon will now appear on the map to mark their home. If the player wants to go on a date, they will need to head over to their house and drive into the red marker. Doing so will result in them coming out of their home to greet and ask Carl Johnson about one of three date options: dinner, dancing, or a drive.
- Dinner - Drive to a fast-food joint, bar, restaurant, or diner.
- Dancing - Go to a nightclub and complete a dancing mini-game.
- Drive - Speed around San Andreas until the "fun" bar is full.
How to Avoid a Jealous Girlfriend in GTA: San Andreas
Finally, CJ can date over one woman at a time, although this can lead to jealously to build among the other girlfriends he encounters afterwards. There are also other actions that will cause a skeptical girlfriend, with the criteria being as follows:
- CJ must not go on a date with any girlfriends until he has more than one.
- CJ must not evade any jealous girlfriends to the point that they despawn.
- CJ must not get caught by any jealous girlfriends.
If any of the above criteria were broken at any point since the beginning of the game, a jealous girlfriend will never appear. This is unless the saved data is adjusted using external tools such as GTA San Andreas mods.
