Much to the disappointment of gamers worldwide, Rockstar’s beloved games, Grand Theft Auto Online, and Red Dead Online will no longer be supported with Amazon Prime Gaming benefits. The decision has been met with disappointment from players who have been using the service for many years. Grand Theft Auto Online remains one of the most popular games to date, largely due to Rockstar's consistent support. Even after 10 years, the game is still going strong which is a testament to its popularity and the enduring support it has received from the developers and the gaming community.

Players have been able to connect their Amazon Prime and Rockstar Games accounts to receive various Prime Gaming benefits for years. These benefits have included monthly bonuses such as in-game money, expensive properties like penthouses, and other upgrades.

Unfortunately, as of March 31st, 2023, the Prime Gaming benefits will no longer be available. However, Rockstar has given players one final benefit to use before the service is discontinued. Players who logged in between March 30th to March 31st will receive a $125k in-game bonus, while those who log in before April 4th will receive additional benefits for Red Dead Online, including:

  • (5) Gold Bars
  • The Howl Emote
  • A Select Colorway of the Buckley Hat
  • A Select Colorway of the Rivera Hooded Tunic

The discontinuation of Prime Gaming benefits for GTA Online and Red Dead Online has come as a surprise to many, as Amazon Prime subscribers had come to rely on these benefits for many years. The program offered a welcome monthly bonus, particularly for new gamers, and its discontinuation will undoubtedly be felt by many.

Some speculate that Rockstar may be planning to prepare for GTA 6 release by slowing down GTA Online. However, until Rockstar makes an official statement, the reason behind the decision remains unclear. Despite this, gamers can continue to enjoy GTA Online and Red Dead Online, two of the most successful games in recent years, even without the Prime Gaming benefits.

Although the Prime Gaming benefits are coming to an end, Rockstar's support of GTA Online shows no signs of slowing down. For many years, Rockstar has delivered two new patches per year that significantly improve the game, and there is no indication that these updates will be ending anytime soon.
