Rockstar has revealed the release date of the second part of the Los Santos Drug Wars update for Grand Theft Auto Online, stating that the new story missions will be added to the hit game in a week's time. Its announcement arrived just after the conclusion of a brief promo period that saw GTA Online offering bonuses for helping Dr. Dre.

Initially launched in mid-December 2022, the Los Santos Drug Wars expansion was technically revealed as a two-part story update, although its initial set of missions was also followed by a plethora of somewhat thematically related content drops that have been rolling out on a bi-weekly basis since the turn of the year. The latest such updates introduced the Classique Broadway and Weeny Issi Rally rides which were added to GTA Online on February 9 and January 26, respectively.

Rockstar is now also following up on the expansion's overarching narrative with another set of missions scheduled to debut on March 16. Titled "The Last Dose," these five new adventures are meant to offer a conclusion to the Los Santos Drug Wars update for GTA Online, with the developer promising they'll allow the players to find the bottom of its latest story's "psychedelic rabbit hole." Players who still haven't started the expansion's initial chapter can do so by visiting Blaine County and talking up Nervous Ron Jakowski of a drug-dealing gang called the Fooliganz who seek to dominate the psychedelics trade in all of Southern San Andreas.

Since introducing the first set of these wacky story missions back in December, Rockstar also debuted a wide variety of new GTA Online cars related to Los Santos Drug Wars. The Last Dose chapter will mark the end of this expansion, but fans likely won't have to wait too long for new in-game content; while the game is pushing ten nowadays, not only has it enjoyed a consistent stream of new content since release, but it's also nowhere close to getting replaced, with recent reports suggesting GTA 6—and, presumably, a follow-up on GTA Online—won't be out before late 2024 at the earliest.

In the meantime, it is plausible that the second chapter of Los Santos Drug Wars will be followed by another promo period offering increased rewards for completing its story missions. After all, the December update followed a similar pattern, as did many GTA Online expansions before that.

Grand Theft Auto Online is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
