Grand Theft Auto Online is full of many rich and wonderful surprises for its ever-growing player base. The online component of Grand Theft Auto 5 that launched with the original version of the game back in 2013 continues to help the title top sales charts with every subsequent re-release, garnering new fans and players along the way.
On PC, gamers can mod GTA Online to their liking, from outlandish character models to new weapons and even entire sections of the map being revamped. The process of making these mods can be fairly difficult, but the fun ways in which players can manipulate the game’s coding and images makes it all worth it in the end.
Some equally impressive feats see fans bringing items from GTA Online into the real world. Such was the case when Reddit user MyNameIsTommas made mention that he enjoyed a piece of artwork that he purchased in game for his character. Thus, as a birthday present, his friends went into the game’s files and exported the painting, printing it and framing the final product for him.
The user’s post currently sits with a 98% upvote ratio on the page, with many lovely comments from other users saying how kind the Redditor's friends were and some even asking for screenshots of the painting to use for screensavers. Other users mentioned that many memorable art pieces have appeared in GTA Online, saying how they would love to receive replicas of them as well.
It’s always heartwarming to hear stories of gamers using the tools they have available to them to create something unique and wonderful for their community. It’s also not the first time someone has attempted to bring an item from Grand Theft Auto to the real world, as a group of players actually managed to bring the Ramp Buggy from GTA Online to life, and they did so with great success.
In spite of how GTA 5 is nearing a decade old, gamers are still finding ways to keep the game alive and show off the appreciation they have for it. Whether this comes in the form of rediscovering old multiplayer features in GTA Online that were long thought gone, or making simple mods for friends, there’s no denying that players will find ways to entertain themselves until Rockstar is finally ready to release the next entry in the series.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is now available for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Enhanced versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are slated for release in March 2022.
