Grand Theft Auto Online continues to be a huge success for Rockstar Games as the company consistently support the game with free updates every now and then. With the release of the game's biggest expansion looming over the horizon, it seems Rockstar has even more plans stacked up to surprise the dedicated Grand Theft Auto Online fans this year.
Ever since the release of Grand Theft Auto Online back in 2013, Rockstar Games has shown sheer dedication and commitment to make it one of the best online gaming experiences around. Seven years later, courtesy of that, the game saw its best-ever fiscal second quarter this year. This is only expected to expand as the game is headed to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2021.
Players looking to continue their adventure on these shiny new consoles will have plenty to look forward to, starting off with The Cayo Perico Heist that drops December 15. Aside from this, Rockstar Games has now announced a new underground nightclub called "The Music Locker" that will be heading to the game sometime in the future. According to Rockstar newswire, The Music Locker is opening soon in East Los Santos, underneath the Diamond Casino & Resort.
The Music Locker, as Rockstar describes it, is the "greatest club" in the history of Los Santos and will bring some world-class DJs onboard for extravagant night parties. The opening week will see artist Moodymann, bringing in the Motor City Soul fever, whereas future updates will welcome artists such as Keinemusik, Palms Trax, etc. Additionally, Penthouse owners in the Diamond Casino will be given exclusive access to table service in the VIP section of The Music Locker.
The Music Locker update is seemingly the biggest musical update for Grand Theft Auto Online since launch and will continue to add new radio stations, new DJ's and even add new music to existing radio stations over the course of time. With all these substantial additions, the future of Grand Theft Auto Online seems impressive, however, what doesn't look quite as impressive is its other title, Red Dead Online. Rockstar's other big online adventure recently had its latest Bounty Hunter update with which fans aren't happy. Add to that, a lack of proper roadmap and deteriorating player count, the game's future doesn't seem as promising.
With Rockstar Games so focused on churning out updates for its online titles, many fans have shown concerns regarding the existence of a numbered sequel. Interestingly, these have been put to rest as the recent Heist Trailer may have teased the existence of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Grand Theft Auto Online is now available on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, while a PS5 and Xbox Series X/S update coming later in 2021.
