Rockstar Games has a knack for including intriguing detail within its open-world games. This is more apparent than ever in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, with each title offering new Easter eggs and enigmas that leave players scrambling for clues years after release. Fortunately, Grand Theft Auto Online is no exception, with ghosts that haunt Mount Gordo to aliens providing Rockstar fans with a plethora of brand-new mysteries to sink their teeth into. However, none of these secrets is more prevalent within the community than the mysteries surrounding GTA Online's Mount Chiliad.

One of the primary reasons Grand Theft Auto Online is so enormously popular to this day is because of the almost limitless references, oddities, and unexpected encounters for players to uncover throughout the various in-game regions of Los Santos and Blaine County. After all, multiple recent GTA Online UFO encounters captured the minds of the player base for ages, thus proving the mysterious atmosphere and unpredictability of the open world is still going strong.

Now, another mysterious secret takes the GTA Online community by storm, as many players are left feeling stumped after Reddit user FiskerGuten shared their findings of a secret location within Blaine County. More specifically, the user captured the image while exploring the steep hilltops of the Mount Chiliad district. The post in question displays FiskerGuten stumbling upon the grey entry doors of a nuclear bunker silo marked with "B77."

An area already infamous for its bizarre GTA Online sightings, FiskerGuten's post went viral with over 6,100 upvotes as many users came together to speculate and debate the meaning behind including the Mount Chiliad missile launch facility. Although, despite all the hysteria surrounding the base, more experienced players will know that its presence has a surprisingly simple answer.

For the uninitiated, to give players more to see and explore in the nearly nine-year-old game, Rockstar has pumped Grand Theft Auto Online with countless expansions and updates that, in some cases, alter the environment of the mode. One DLC that adds a brand-new locale to the map is The Doomsday Heist introduced to GTA Online in 2017. This update features a storyline that sees the return of deuteragonist Lester Crest and a new antagonist, billionaire Avon Hertz. It is within the last mission of the DLC where players invade the bunker owned by Avon and escape through the silo doors in the image using a jetpack.

In summary, despite how old Grand Theft Auto Online is, gamers are still catching up on all the secrets that embellish the map. Fortunately, as the game is regularly updated to this day, it seems likely that Rockstar will continue to add more mysteries to the game to keep the community scrambling for clues and answers.

Grand Theft Auto Online is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions also in development.
