Grand Theft Auto Online is celebrating Independence day in style. From today until July 7th, players will have a chance to grab some USA-themed rewards and discounts on a ton of items.
Right before the Independence Day event went live, reliable leaker "TezFunz2" released the patch notes on Twitter, causing fans to give their input about the GTA Online event rewards early. Although many of the discounted items are not new, players will be happy to see a different reward on the Diamond Casino & Resort podium. For the event, players can win a Western Sovereign motorcycle with a USA flag painted across it by spinning the Diamond Casino wheel.
Players will also enjoy 50% off Independence Day items, including clothes, hairstyles, masks, weapons, and even Patriot tire smoke. There is also a smoking deal of 70% off for any facilities, bunkers or hangers. The Business Battles event cargo rewards are also USA-themed with an exclusive Statue of Happiness T-shirt and four different beer hat styles. Business Battles are also a good way to earn money, which players can spend on the sales.
The 50% off sale also applies to select vehicles, and the some of the most expensive ones are included in the sale. One of the most powerful vehicles, The Oppressor, is also half off, along with several planes and helicopters. If players want to earn money for all the sales going on, the Bunker & Missile Base Adversary Series is also offering double cash and RP during the event. Players may enjoy the sales, but have been outspoken about the lack of options to earn money during the event.
However, if players have a Twitch Prime account, they will enjoy a 10% discount off all items which can be also applied to the sale. Twitch Prime members are also given 200k cash every week by just logging into GTA Online. Players still have a chance to earn a total of 1.25 million dollars by having Twitch Prime and logging in every week. The event only lasts until July 7th, so players should spend some cash quick.
The Independence Day event offers a ton of discounts overall, but is lacking the over-the-top rewards that players were hoping for. Besides the Sovereign Motorcycle and the Statue of Happiness shirt, many are disappointed with the themed items and not much new added for the update. However, the sales are massive and the amount of luxury items available makes for a good July 4th celebration. Hopefully players will be able to witness a firework display or put one on themselves.
