While some might expect the Grand Theft Auto franchise to be exclusively about stealing cars based on its namesake, Grand Theft Auto Online has a great many rare and interesting vehicles for GTA players to buy. The game added a strange item to its garage today in the form of the Nagasaki Weaponized Dinghy.

There are a great many regular cars, motorcycles, and more that can be purchased throughout Los Santos, but developer Rockstar Games has also not been shy about letting its players pick up some more outlandish offerings to impress their friends and terrorize NPCs. The recent Cayo Perico Heist update added an entire submarine mechanic, for example, and the idea of a weaponized dinghy is not entirely unusual given GTA Online has added weaponized vehicles of all kinds in the past.

That being said, the dinghy is a bizarre, yet fun addition in its own right, taking the form of a small motorized boat with a .50 cal turret attached to the front. Rockstar recommends the amphibious vehicle for players that want to conduct an "assault on a militarized border" or "defend your humble seaside home" in its Newswire post today, and says it can be purchased now from Grand Theft Auto Online's Warstock Cache & Carry shop.

The Newswire post reminds players that Warstock Cache & Carry is also offering the Dinka Verus ATV for free until March 3, giving anyone looking to buy the Nagasaki Weaponized Dinghy something else to claim while they're at it. A number of other bonuses available this week are also outlined by Rockstar: Players can get 2x GTA$ and Reputation Points on Special Cargo Sell missions, Stunt Races, Simeon mission, DJ Request missions, and Sumo mode.

Rockstar cycles through content about every week to keep players busy, similar to its other ongoing service title Red Dead Online. This includes special holiday content, with GTA Online offering Valentine's Day bonuses and discounts earlier this month. The February 25 update includes a number of discounts, the chance to receive unique Blue and Magenta Glow Shades until March 8, and a free Kosatka submarine Sonar Station for players who connect their Rockstar Games Social Club account with Prime Gaming.

Whatever players decide to do with the new weaponized dinghy is likely to be interesting, given the history of what Grand Theft Auto players have accomplished. One player was recently able to land a motorcycle on the Loch Ness Monster's head, taking advantage of an Easter egg introduced by the Cayo Perico Heist update. Given a dinghy with a turret gun, who knows what will be possible.

Grand Theft Auto Online is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are in development.
