Rockstar Games can manage to get some big names to collaborate on its projects. There are some hints that the legendary rapper, producer, and Aftermath Entertainment founder Dr. Dre will be a part of a future update in Grand Theft Auto Online.

Instagram travel influencer Gwil34 recently ran into the media mogul at a steakhouse in Santa Monica where they apparently chopped it up a bit. In his excitement, he let slip in a response to a comment that Dr. Dre could be, at minimum, debuting new music within Grand Theft Auto Online in December. The next GTA Online update could come in December so that lines up with what was said.

When Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition was officially on its way, it hinted at the end of the Newswire release that "some well-known contacts and familiar friends need your help" in GTA Online. It is possible that this could mean Dr. Dre's character in GTA Online and those associated, along with some other characters currently unknown, could play a role in the story of the next update. On the other hand, that line from the Newswire could also refer to the return of Gay Tony that was also rumored to be happening in this future GTA Online update. Rockstar has not confirmed either character, so anything can happen.

Dr. Dre is not a stranger to the Grand Theft Auto franchise, having a small cameo in a quest step during a storyline in the Cayo Perico Heist update in a small cutscene. His character shows up at a private jet airport with DJ Pooh and Jimmy Iovine before sudden bad news causes them to cancel their trip and sends Scott Storch in his place. Dr. Dre's music also features in GTA 5 as well as GTA: San Andreas. With a previous relationship already cemented, it's not unreasonable to believe that Dr. Dre and music from him could return to GTA Online.

Rockstar Games has not confirmed any of these rumors as of writing and it could be a few weeks still before there may be any hints as to what the company plans on doing for the GTA Online end of the year content update. For now, fans can hold on to this information and wait for more news to come out that will confirm or deny Dre's appearance.

Grand Theft Auto Online is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
