A fantastic way to gain additional experience and eventually unlock attractive rewards has been present in Grand Theft Auto Online for some time with the addition of daily shipwrecks. Daily shipwrecks were first introduced into Grand Theft Auto Online back in August 2021 with the release of the Los Santos Tuners update. As the name suggests, the update was primarily focused on revamping car-related content within GTA Online, famously introducing the LS Car Meet activity, which provided players with a non-combative mode to show off their cars due to the high levels of griefing that car meets had been facing.

The Los Santos Tuners update also introduced a multitude of street races and the addition of new auto shop locations around Los Santos, meaning that the aforementioned introduction of daily shipwreck activities went relatively under the radar for many players. Daily shipwrecks are technically a form of collectible in Grand Theft Auto Online, with one appearing in a different location every 24 hours within the game world of Los Santos.

The Routine and Benefits Behind GTA Online Daily Shipwrecks

There are 30 unique locations around Los Santos that a shipwreck can spawn at on any given day. The shipwrecks are relatively inconspicuous and can easily blend into the brown coastline of most of Los Santos, but thankfully, they emit a noise when a player is close to them like other GTA Online collectibles. They also make controllers vibrate.

When a player discovers a daily shipwreck, they must open up a chest that will be situated quite close to the wreck itself in order to register that day's collectible as found. Upon opening a shipwreck chest, players receive a reward of $20,000 and 2000 experience. When taking into account just how expensive some items in Grand Theft Auto Online can be, the frequent and relatively easy to obtain nature of daily shipwrecks and their rewards is a decidedly attractive prospect.

More rewards can be obtained from daily shipwrecks, with a player unlocking the pirate themed "The Frontier" outfit upon successfully registering seven daily shipwrecks. Every player within a server can collect the same chest on any given day, meaning that daily shipwrecks are a perfect activity for freeplay exploration with friends in Grand Theft Auto Online.

The player base for the multiplayer title has only grown in recent years, with the massive financial success of the game being cemented with the recent standalone release of GTA Online for current generation consoles. Given how dedicated a large portion of this player base is, consistently putting in hours for the GTA Online grind, the easy cash and experience of daily shipwrecks should not be ignored. With dedicated groups in the GTA Online community being formed solely to provide information regarding each day's unique shipwreck location, the aforementioned rewards are made all the more easier to obtain, providing a real boost for both new and old players alike.

Grand Theft Auto Online is available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.
