Grand Theft Auto 5's multiplayer component has become a gigantic, unstoppable beast. Eight years after its release, updates are still coming in on a regular basis. The most recent expansion, The Contract, adds story missions letting players know what Franklin, one of the three protagonists from the single-player mode, has been up to since the main game's events.
The main goal of Grand Theft Auto Online is to make as much money as possible, so this guide is here to help players get the most cash from the new content. Money is not the only reason to play this new expansion, however, since the missions are genuinely entertaining.
Security Contracts
These are simple missions players can do at almost anytime from the computer in the agency building after buying it for anywhere between two and four million dollars. Of all the payouts in the update, these give the least amount of money. Each contract has a varying level of difficulty.
They are all relatively simple to complete, however. The assignments consist of Asset Protection, Recover Valuables, Gang Termination, Liquidize Assets, Rescue Operation, and Vehicle Recovery. The object of these contracts is all a bit different. For example, sometimes players may have to eliminate a group of rival gangsters or recover a stolen vehicle. The only risk is some of the other players in the world disrupting progress.
Doing The VIP Contract Grants One Million Dollars
The main moneymaker here is the VIP contract, which makes up the bulk of the expansion. This is what has been advertised up until release; a storyline following the player as they work with Franklin to find Dr. Dre's stolen phone with new demos on it.
The content itself takes a solid four to six hours to complete and at the end players net a cool one million dollars. Players can also do the entire story thread by themselves, though a couple of missions are way easier with buddies. To unlock this mission, do at least one security contract and then Franklin will call the player to start this big job.
Franklin's Payphone Hits
Other than the security contracts (which don't pay a lot) and the VIP contract, there is also a short series of missions players take from Franklin using payphones. To unlock them, do a couple of more security contracts after unlocking the VIP mission.
The payouts for these are not huge, but each assassination also comes with a special order on how to complete the kill. If players do this, the payout is significantly larger. These involve either using a specific weapon or using a part of the environment to take out a target.
GTA Online is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are set to release in March 2022.
