Grand Theft Auto Online has become synonymous with the open-world genre as millions of gamers flock to the multiplayer shooter every day to experience the best of the virtual freedom it has on offer. However, many players are quick to find that the freedom in Los Santos often comes with a hefty price tag. After all, everything revolves around the player's in-game bank account, as buying businesses is the primary way to climb up the ranks of the seedy criminal underworld. With that said, developer Rockstar Games is now setting out to make such costly prospects more easily obtainable for newer players.

It has been over nine years since the now standalone game first debuted, but it would appear time has not slowed GTA Online from rolling to the top of sales charts, plus crushing record number player counts in the process till this day. With no end in sight to when the GTA Online bubble is going to burst, it comes as no surprise that the game is making the leap to next-generation PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Although, Rockstar affirms that this port is more than just a pretty face, as the Expanded and Enhanced Edition of Grand Theft Auto 5 will come with all-new features, settings, and improvements.

Now, Rockstar's latest announcement via its newswire reinforces this overhaul-focus notion of Grand Theft Auto Online's Expanded and Enhanced Edition. Rockstar confirms that a "Career Builder" will be one of many qualities of life refinements coming to help settle new players easier into the game. On top of the Career Builder, there will further be an "all-new GTA Online Tutorial" section, including the ability to finally "skip the GTA 5 Story Mode prologue before entering Online."

The Career Builder gives players instant access to their choice of one of four popular Grand Theft Auto Online business properties, which are the Biker, Executive, Nightclub Owner, and Gunrunner enterprise start-ups. Besides the keys to the doors, Rockstar will also give players a "sizable GTA$ windfall" to buy themselves a safe house, high-end vehicle, and some weaponry to kick-start their way to the top of Los Santos. Fortunately, returning players can restart their character to "take advantage of the Career Builder at any time."

For the uninitiated, one of the reasons why the Career Builder will be helpful in GTA Online is because players can purchase outfits, lavish apartments, helicopters, and supercars, plus take part in many other miscellaneous activities like playing golf or visiting the cinema. However, these multi-story residences and exclusive GTA Online Contract vehicles do not grow on trees and often come with an eye-watering price tag. Therefore, one of the best ways to earn cash in-game, without spending real money on Shark Cards, is trading and selling merchandise through the many illegal businesses Los Santos offers.

Huge gameplay improvements like this will win over newer gamers originally put off of playing GTA Online because of its steep financial entry barrier and make the road to becoming a mob boss a little smoother.

Grand Theft Auto Online is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S support planned for March 2022.
