The Grand Theft Auto series has always given players the ability to steal cars from others, and Grand Theft Auto Online is no exception. The franchise is even named after the crime of taking someone else's vehicle without permission and with the intention to significantly or permanently deprive them of it, which is a felony punished with at least a year of prison in most American states. However, one Grand Theft Auto Online player recently had the tables turned on them when they were attacked by a car they were attempting to steal.

Redditor Ardietic appears to have been playing Grand Theft Auto Online's Business Battle mission when the incident occurred. During Business Battles, players compete to steal different types of cargo to use in their Nightclub Warehouses--cargo that seemingly includes cars.

In Ardietic's video, their character is shown parking a car on what appears to be a bridge overlooking the water just behind a large truck. Once out of the vehicle, they proceed to throw an explosive at the truck's back end, blowing the rear doors open. Inside is one of the many small cars found in Grand Theft Auto, which proceeds to accelerate straight out of the truck and over Ardietic's character.

The car in question is known as a Mamba within the series and it was featured in the very first Grand Theft Auto game. However, it isn't usually able to start up without a driver. While this isn't the first time a Grand Theft Auto Online car has been bugged, it may be one of the most entertaining. Fortunately, Ardietic's character appears to have survived the ordeal and the video ends by showing them leap to their feet and run toward the offending vehicle, leaving no sign of the incident but a displaced Mamba and a bloodstain on the tarmac.

As of writing, it appears that other Grand Theft Auto Online fans find this video quite funny. One user replied to the video by stating that Ardietic had fallen victim to "CARma," while another pointed out that Rockstar Games probably wanted players to attack the truck while it was moving. A third user joked that the mother trucker would occasionally be forced to abandon its young while under threat. A fourth user expressed interest in the car Ardietic drove up to the truck in, which they believed resembled KITT from the Night Rider franchise.
