Grand Theft Auto 6 may have just been leaked by a Rockstar Games job listing. At the beginning of the month, an actor's CV also teased a Rockstar project, and many fans hoped that it meant that the developer is forging ahead with a new game in the Grand Theft Auto series.

On the official Rockstar Games site, the company has begun to take applications for an animation systems programmer who has "strong coding skills, a good knowledge and interest in character animation systems, and passion for realistic, high quality character motion." The job listing doesn't talk about the Grand Theft Auto series, but as the hired programmer will be working on "advanced animation systems for large open world character-based games," many fans have jumped to the conclusion that Rockstar is making GTA 6.

The job listing isn't the only suggestion that GTA 6 is in development. Today, fans also discovered that City Morgue, a hip hop group, had potentially leaked the GTA 6 release date. The information does come from an unlikely source, but as Rockstar games are famous for their soundtracks, City Morgue may well have the inside scoop here.

In October, a letter that may have been written by Rockstar Games also seemed to confirm a GTA 6 scouting trip. The Rockstar Games team may have traveled to Florida to look at potential locations for the not yet confirmed game. Other rumors have suggested that GTA 6 will have missions in Miami and South America, which is what the Rockstar team would have been scouting for.

If all of these leaks are true, then it does suggest that some sort of GTA 6 announcement is coming soon, or that Rockstar is working hard on the game. However, it's also possible that fans, excited for a new Grand Theft Auto game, may just be thinking wishfully. Rockstar does have several other open-world series, such as Bully, and sequels for these are also being talked about by the community.

Whatever Rockstar is working on, fans are feeling excited about it. Another job listing from the company confirmed that Rockstar would like to release games on PS5 and Xbox Project Scarlett, the two consoles which are releasing next year. It's unclear how far the next Rockstar game is in development but it could potentially be a launch title.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is rumored to be in development for unspecified platforms.
