However, if the rumor is to be believed, GTA 6 online will be far more ambitious than what's come before.

The leak claims that GTA 6 online will feature "major content" like new towns. The game is rumored to be launching with both Liberty City and Vice City, but if the rumor is correct, more areas will be added post-launch. Perhaps this could include the setting of GTA 5, in turn allowing GTA Online users to carry over their owned buildings and vehicles from that game, though that's just speculation at this time.

Additionally, the rumor claims that Rockstar is "working closely" with Microsoft and Sony on cloud gaming, which will allow online to be a "continuous process." Cloud gaming is almost certainly set to be a major feature when it comes to next-generation consoles, so this part of the rumor is easy to believe.

While there are some aspects to this GTA 6 rumor that make sense given the direction of the industry, we must caution that absolutely none of this is confirmed. Fans should take this rumor and any other rumors about the game with a massive grain of salt until Rockstar itself announces it and reveals more information in an official capacity. However, if the resume of a former Rockstar employee is accurate, it does seem as though GTA 6 is in development in some capacity.
