Grand Theft Auto fans begin to wonder if Rockstar Games could announce GTA 6 at a PlayStation event next month. Fans have spent months talking about when Rockstar may announce its next game and there were also suggestions that Bully 2 or GTA 6 would be revealed at E3 2019, though that never came to pass.

On December 3, Sony will host its annual PlayStation Awards in Japan. At this event, Sony hands out awards to the best selling PlayStation games of the year and Dexerto claims that some fans have suggested that Rockstar could use the event to announce GTA 6. Rockstar and Sony have a good relationship and it announced GTA 5 for PS4 at the Sony E3 2013 press conference which is why it seems possible that Rockstar would announce the next GTA at a Sony event. The PlayStation Awards are also one of the last big gaming events of the year.

However, there doesn't seem to be anything supporting the idea that GTA 6 will be announced next month, it's just fans being incredibly hopeful. If Rockstar is making GTA 6 for the PS5, it seems unlikely that it would announce with nearly a year to go until the console's release. There have also been suggestions that GTA 6 is a PS5 launch title and if it's such a big part of the console's release, why would Sony announce this here and not at a larger PS5 event.

It's also unclear if GTA 6 is ready for an official announcement. Rockstar has been hiring for what seems to be the GTA 6 development team. One of its new job listings is for a character animators on an open-world game, which is likely GTA 6. Other job listings posted this year have also spoken about new gaming platforms. If Rockstar is only now hiring these developers, GTA 6 probably isn't ready to be officially announced at such a big event like the PlayStation Awards.

A GTA 6 reveal probably isn't coming at the PlayStation Awards next month, but fans can feel good about that. Waiting longer until announcing the game gives Rockstar much more time to get through fans' GTA 6 wishlists, adding features such as a more entertaining story, more RPG gameplay, and the great soundtrack that fans enjoy so much about the series. If Rockstar can offer that in GTA 6, then few fans will be upset if the announcement doesn't happen this year.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is rumored to be in development for unspecified platforms.
