There's absolutely no feasible way for players to become bored by the open-world sandbox that is Grand Theft Auto 5. Players have an insane amount of freedom as is and, once mods are factored in, anything is possible. Whether it be a more realistic Los Santos or a remastered Vice City, mods can completely transform how GTA 5 can be played. In the case of one player, a mod allowed them to rampage through Los Santos as the King of the Monsters himself, Godzilla.

Grand Theft Auto 5 isn't any stranger to character mods. Early on, mods that allowed players to become Iron Man, Superman, the Hulk, and even Goku existed. All of these gave players tons of abilities with which to save (or destroy) Los Santos as they saw fit. What's clear with the Godzilla mod is saving Los Santos just isn't possible.

In a YouTube video, TK Rebirth showed off the official Godzilla script, made by known Brazilian modder Julionib. In the video, Godzilla is shown in full form, towering over or being as tall as most of the city buildings. Running through the streets of Los Santos resulted in most civilians and vehicles being swiped aside, leaving little room for survival. Of course, Godzilla wouldn't be himself without his atomic breath, which TK uses throughout the video in a highly destructive fashion.

Overall, the mod does a really good job of conveying just how powerful Godzilla is. None of the police forces stood for long against the massive foe, even when the kaiju casually invaded a military base outside of the city. Even the tanks, which normally come with insane amounts of durability, did little to withstand Godzilla's atomic breath. Despite all of that power, the GTA 5 mod is still in development, meaning there may be more features to expect, such as a nuclear Godzilla.

Fun, time-consuming mods like that are no doubt a huge reason why Grand Theft Auto 5 has such incredible staying power. Once players get started, it's hard to not rampage for hours on end as the King of the Monsters, if not any other incredibly strong fictional characters. If not that, players can just as easily shoot cars, grant themselves unlimited amounts of money, and create custom locations like jungles or airports. That said, rampaging as Godzilla is looking to be an incredibly fun experience, and once fully released to the public, it'll definitely be worth playing around with.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.
