Fast approaching its tenth birthday, Grand Theft Auto 5 is still drawing in players and inspiring new content, and a recent video showcases some of the most amusing glitches that have existed or still exist in Rockstar's lucrative release. While the world waits to hear about GTA 6's progress, fans are keeping themselves busy with the current installment. There is, after all, quite a lot to do and see in the game, and those who play on PC know the added value of custom mods to help extend gameplay.

Of course, it's not perfect by any means. GTA 5 has its share of glitches, just like any other release. While some of these can break the immersion or just straight up ruin the experience, there are those that are entertaining and even funny. Of course, given how massive the game's map is, finding all these bugs can prove tricky, which is why someone has gone to the trouble of chronicling some of the more mirthful examples.

YouTuber DarkViperAU has spent years putting together a compilation of some of the funniest Grand Theft Auto 5 glitches, with random clips from the game demonstrating what can happen when things go wrong. At over half an hour in length, there are quite a few that really show just how amusing this otherwise sincere game can be. Such examples include characters glitching into each other, police officers spawning infinite flashlights, hitting golf balls at NPCs without any repercussions, changing a character just before nosediving a plane into the ground to leave them stuck in the pilot seat, and loads more. These bugs and exploits really prove that, no matter how hard developers try, no game is immune to technical issues.

Those who know the name DarkViperAU will be familiar with their GTA content. In 2022, a video showed that the YouTuber had taken three years to do a pacifist run of Grand Theft Auto 5. Taking into account the fact that they had to kill nearly 100 people to complete the game doesn't detract from how much of a challenge that must have been.

Coming from one of the most successful franchises in video game history, GTA 5 has easily stood the test of time. It may have come out nearly a decade ago, but it's still a source of much amusement for fans. It may have a number of bugs, but that just makes the game even more entertaining.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
