Obsidian Entertainment's backyard survival title Grounded has been available in early access since July 28th. In an effort to constantly improve the game, the first patch has been released that will address various bugs and fixes.

Grounded is currently available on PC and Xbox One and has already surpassed one million players in the first 48 hours. Players can explore the backyard solo or team up with friends to conquer the massive backyard environment. Although many players are not having major issues with servers, some in-game multiplayer functions have caused crashes.  As an early access game, Grounded still has room to grow and patches will help keep in-game problems to a minimum.

The 0.1.2 patch fixes many issues with crashing including scenarios where Grounded would crash upon approaching juice drops, or crash if an insect is being damaged by a base trap. A profile selection bug has also been addressed that caused loss of saved data. The patch also addresses the excess larva and fixes spawning issues with crafting materials. Although seemingly small issues, these bugs have prevented certain in-game actions and have been solved so the game runs smoothly.

Grounded will also have monthly updates that will look to improve gameplay and introduce new exciting features. The patch may not add anything exciting to Grounded, but it does set the stage for a smooth transition into the first update, which could be packed full of new content. Many believe that the first update could feature new insects, materials, crafting and possibly new locations. Since monthly updates are expected, Grounded will go through many changes and updates before its full release, which is scheduled for 2021.

Grounded is very different than Obsidian Entertainment's usual RPG games, however, many are seeing the similarities in survival aspects in Grounded and Obsidian's other titles. Grounded is a uniquely fresh take on survival games and has been heavily praised for its immersive world and attention to detail. These elements of Grounded have been heavily praised and said to succeed where games like Fallout 76 came up short.

Grounded throws players into the challenging backyard environment and quickly must figure out how to survive. Learning every action can be tricky but beginner's guides can help figure out how to get started. As players learn to survive and thrive in the backyard, updates and patches will change gameplay and keep the game fresh for the 2021 release.
