Axes are very important tools in Grounded, and indeed there are two different axes that players can obtain in the early access release of this new survival game. Those are the Pebblet Axe and the Insect Axe, and fans that want to craft these tools will need to put in a bit of effort.

With respect to the Pebblet Axe in Grounded, creating one requires players to collect three Sprigs, two Pebblets, and one Woven Fiber. Fortunately, the requisite Sprigs and Pebblets are quite easy to locate, as they are found in abundance scattered across the ground. However, things do get a bit more complicated when it comes to the Woven Fiber.

More specifically, in order to get a Woven Fiber in Grounded, players should first collect several Plant Fibers from the ground. They should then head to the Field Station tent, interact with the Resource Analyzer inside, and analyze a Plant Fiber (along with a Pebblet and Sprig if they have not been analyzed already). This will unlock the ability to craft a Woven Fiber from three Plant Fibers (in the Materials section of the Craft tab), and Grounded fans should do just that before they move to the Tools section and craft the Pebblet Axe.

For those players that want a sightly better axe, the Insect Axe is what is available. To get this tier two axe in Grounded, fans must first kill ladybugs, which appear somewhat rarely in the yard, and obtain a head. When that has been done, players should take the Ladybug Head back to the Analyzer and analyze it to unlock the Insect Axe in this new game from Obsidian Entertainment.

Fans will now need to collect the other materials that are required for crafting Grounded's tier two axe, and those are three Bombardier Parts and four Spider Silk. When it comes to Bombardier Parts, those are obtained by killing small Bombardier Beetles, and the Spider Silk is earned by hitting the Spider Webs that can be found in the opening in the ground on the west side of the map.

To note, players will need a workbench in Grounded in order to craft the level two axe, and that is made from three Grass Planks, four Sprigs, and two Sap. Fans will also use this workbench to make a variety of other high-quality tools, and it is thus certainly worthwhile to get one up and running.

Grounded is set to launch in 2021 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Early Access is available now for Game Pass subscribers.
