In action RPG games where one must build a character up over time by investing points into Skills, investing in the wrong direction can lead to inferior combat potential or missing out on meeting important Skill checks. Players exploring the untamed continent of Teer Fradee in Greedfall, by French indie game developer Spiders, can very much fall into the pit of bad Skill investment, though, thankfully, the game gives gamers a way to correct this.

To reset one's Skills so that the player can spend them more wisely, one must use a Memory Crystal. These gems are very rare, so, when acquiring them, be sure to keep them safe and not spend them unnecessarily. There are 3 that can be found in the game, and each one can only be obtained as a drop from specific bosses.

The first Memory Crystal can be found very early in the game before one even leaves Sérène for the island of Teer Fradee. Players will have to play through the majority of the main quest called "The Great Departure" in order to meet the first boss of the game, the Unknown Creature.

How To Beat The Unknown Creature

Thankfully, this mangled beast that is actually an unidentified kind of Nádaig from Teer Fradee is in a weakened state when the player faces off against it, though, they can still pose a threat since one will likely be at a fairly low level at this point in the game.

At long range, the Unknown Creature will throw spears and other weapons at the player after plucking them from its wood-like body, at mid-range, it will swipe at the player with its massive arms to knock them down, and at close-range, it will try to crush the player by slamming the ground in an AoE attack.

The best way to take this fiend down is to get behind it and strike it a few times with one's melee weapon before dodging and readjusting to continue performing these back-attacks. After the Unknown Creature falls, it will drop a Memory Crystal as well as a few other rewards.

To find one of the next Memory Crystals, players will have to interact quite a lot with the Naut companion Vasco. He has 3 personal quests, with the final one, called "Forever a Naut", leading to the boss that drops a Memory Crystal, a Nádaig Glendemen inhabiting a cave along the coast.

How To Beat The Nádaig Glendemen

With a variety of attacks and bizarre movements, this ancient creature can be a bit tricky to deal with as it can be unpredictable. Ranged attacks, such as with guns or magic, are particularly handy against this bulbous and misshapen fiend.

The most annoying of the Nádaig Glendemen's attacks is when it burrows underground and tries to attack the player from below with rapid charges that are unlike anything it can do above ground. Since one cannot damage the boss in this state, players can only wait out the attack by dodging to the side when the beast rushes forward.

While above ground, at mid and long-range, the tentacled monster will shoot at the player with bolts of white energy, and, at close range, it will perform short-ranged tackles and slam targets with its sinister facial tendrils. Its energy blasts are far easier to dodge, so players should take the Nádaig Glendemen down with bullets or spells if they cannot do so with melee. Afterward, celebrate by admiring the rewards, among which will be a Memory Crystal.

To uncover the final Memory Crystal, players will have to play through most of the "Face to Face with the Demon" main quest that can be picked up from Derdre, the chief of the village Védvílvie, but only after one has completed the "Demoniacal Cult" main quest. When near the end, players will come face to face with another ancient creature borne from nature, a Nádaig Védemen lurking in a secluded sanctuary.

How To Beat The Nádaig Védemen

Out of all the Nádaig variants that can be found on Teer Fradee, the Nádaig Védemen is arguably the weakness as it mostly only uses a couple of attacks that are quite easy to dodge.

At long and mid-range, it will spew a poisonous cloud into the air that will follow the player, though, continuous side-stepping can let one maneuver around the cloud with little effort. At close-range, the boss will use its lanky arms to try and grab the player, however, it has very poor balance and will always fall over while making this attack, granting wide windows for an attack.

Bait out the Nádaig Védemen's lame grab attacks to punish it while it gets up and one can also blast at it with ranged attacks while it is spewing its slow-moving toxic haze. This will cause it will go down fairly quickly, despite its large pool of health. When defeated, players can reap the rewards of a few items that include a precious Memory Crystal for Skill redistribution.
