Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition was an extremely unpolished and buggy game when it released in November of last year. This prompted many fans of the original games to hold off on buying Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition until the game was in a better state.

Despite its plethora of issues, the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy continued to sell ridiculously well. This was exceptionally surprising as the poor state of the game was highly publicized at the time of its release. Some consumers even took to Twitter to demand refunds for not receiving the product that they were promised in the game's promotional content.

The main gripes players had with the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy at launch were the strange looking character models, the poor rain effects that were too loud, which regularly clipped through ceilings, the poor performance of all games across all systems, and the sheer number of bugs and glitches present across all the games as well. Now it seems as though Grove Street Games has finally released a patch that may make the game what it should have been at launch.

The patch notes include a massive number of changes with some of the most notable being improved game performance across all platforms and game modes, stability improvements, fixes for several issues when attempting to retry missions from the last checkpoint, fixes for texture issues, and fixes for a number of collision issues. Grove Street Games seems to have done all they can to fix the game, as the patch notes goes into specific detail about nearly all the collision and texture fixes that players experienced.

While some fans may agree that it is a good thing that the update came at all, many others have lost faith in Rockstar for releasing the game in the state it was launched in. Fans were particularly upset at a statement that from Take Two's CEO who noted that the GTA Trilogy has done well despite a "glitch in the beginning".

This comment, unfortunately, led to the harassment of Take Two's CEO on social media. While harassment in any form is not condoned, the comment seemed to show just how out of touch the higher-ups at Take Two are with the fan base. Many Rockstar fans may now feel tentative to purchase the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 on release, as a result of the state that the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy was released in.
