It's been over a decade and a half since the release of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, but modders are still giving Rockstar's action-adventure game plenty of attention. Once again, the game is getting a Marvel-themed mod, but this time it isn't Spider-Man coming to GTA: San Andreas, but Iron Man.

Even old games get love too, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has stood the test of time as a game that many players still enjoy, despite its age and graphics quality (compared to 2020's). In fact, some fans tried to remaster GTA: San Andreas and bring it up to a more modern level of quality, but Take-Two and Rockstar shut that particular project down. The Iron Man mod isn't seeing any threats of legal action, which is great news for Grand Theft Auto and Tony Stark fans.

This modder, known as maxirp online, recently released an incredible Iron Man mod that goes beyond a simple character reskin. The mod adds in Tony Stark's mansion in California and Stark Tower, and both are full of Iron Man armor suits. The UI has been updated to include Jarvis, just like the artificial intelligence-powered UI on the inside of Stark's suit when he's embodying the metallic superhero. The armor menu also gives the player the opportunity to change skins or call on allies.

This isn't just a cosmetic change, this is a full-on Tony Stark experience. Of course, the modder didn't rewrite the entire game to mirror the plot of an Avengers movie, but that would be a major project, and this is impressive enough as it is. This mod doesn't just focus on Tony Stark, either, but includes skins for Rhodey/War Machine, Stark's love interest Pepper Potts, Rescue armor, Iron Legion, Whiplash, and Yinsen.

The modder clearly took a deep-dive into the Tony Stark lore to try and make this mod all about living the Tony Stark/Iron Man experience in GTA: San Andreas as expansive as it can be within the confines of the game. And to make this even more detailed, there are even Ultrons that will spawn in the police department that can fly and attack the player once their GTA Wanted level is high enough. This mod clearly went above and beyond in its devotion to representing Iron Man.

Those interested in playing as Iron Man in GTA: San Andreas can download the mod from Mod DB, and players who've upgraded to GTA 5 have plenty of fun mods to choose from too, like new textures and VR support.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is out now on mobile, PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox, and Xbox 360.
