While playing Grand Theft Autoplayers can run into different encounters. These encounters help build the world and expand on what NPCs are doing. It is also worth noting that players are able to receive rewards for the encounters they complete. This can be in the form of money or even in the form of vehicles.

A nice touch is that some encounters do not give a reward, instead introducing or killing off a character. Luckily enough none of these encounters take place during missions, meaning there is no way for players to miss them. Just be warned, some of these encounters can lead to a player's death.

10 Bus Tour

A player taking a tour through Vinewood

Near the Up-n-Atom Burger in Vinewood, players can find a bus parked. This is the Vinewood Star Tours, a service that gives information about certain locations and people. For $40, players can also go on this tour for themselves. The tour is only available between 7 AM and 7 PM, with the bus not appearing other than these times.

The tour will take a total of ten in-game hours, meaning it can possibly be late in the night before it is over. Players will also be seated right behind the cab, meaning they will have a limited view for photos. On the plus side, players can learn more lore about certain places.

9 Domestic

The man in the encounter being kicked out of his home

While driving around Vinewood Hills, players can run into a man yelling in his driveway. It is learned that he is being kicked out of his home for cheating on his wife. He will ask the player to drive him to the golf club, with Trevor being able to take him to the Altruist Camp. Successfully delivering the man to the golf club will allow players to play golf with him.

As well as the ability to play golf, players will also receive money for their troubles. Despite not knowing if the man is able to return home, players can gain a new friend to golf with.

8 Sport Bike Thief

A man stealing a sports bike

While driving around, players might stumble across an NPC having their motorcycle stolen. This event is located at North Rockford Drive in the Richman area. The NPC stolen from will scream for help, allowing the player to go after the thief.

Players can either shoot the thief or ram into the motorcycle. Either way, players will get on the bike. From here, they can either return the motorcycle for +5 driving skill boost or keep the motorcycle for themselves.

7 Simeon Yetarian

The player chasing down Simeon Yetarian

Between the missions 'Friend Request' and 'Mr. Phillips', players are able to return to Simeon Yetarian's car dealership. This can only be seen if playing as Michael or Franklin, as they are the ones who smashed Simeon's shop. Two men will be in the shop, acting as Simeon's bodyguards.

Dealing with them will cause Simeon to either run out of the shop or cower in his office. Players are then given the choice to either kill him or spare him. Because of his later appearances in GTA Online, it seems the canon choice was to spare Simeon.

6 Construction Accident

A player removing logs during the encounter

At the construction site in Little Seoul, players can witness an accident happen. Pipes will fall on a truck, blocking the doors and trapping a man inside. As if that were not stressful enough, a gas trail will ignite and start to head towards the truck. Players will need to get into a bulldozer and push the pipes out of the way.

Taking too long will cause the flame to reach the truck and explode. Rescuing the worker will cause him to thank the protagonist, with players being awarded +2 driving skill. If that was not enough, players can feel good for saving a life.

5 Altruist Cult Shootout

The player among Altruist Cult members

This encounter can only occur while playing as Trevor, occurring after delivering four victims to the Altruist Camp. Trevor will be taken hostage, needing to shoot his way out. On top of shooting their way out, the player can find four briefcases full of $25,000.

After this encounter, victims can no longer be delivered to the Altruist Camp. While this is a good way to make money, players will have no worry later in the game. On the plus side, players will be greeted with a great view after escaping.

4 Countryside Robbery

A victim of the shootout and a briefcase

While driving along Route 68 in Blaine County, players might stumble across a shootout. Criminals will be defending themselves against cops, with the player choosing a side. Players can either help the cops or help the criminals. While it is more beneficial to help the criminals, players can expect a 3-star wanted level for this.

After helping the criminals, players will be given $10,000 in dropped money. If the criminals are killed, briefcases full of $5,000 can be collected. Just be careful, as the police will not appreciate players picking up the briefcases.

3 Luring Girl Into Alley

The player being ambushed after following a girl into an alley

Around Supply Street in La Mesa, players can encounter a woman screaming for help. She will lead players into an alley, with the protagonist being ambushed by her and another man. After an easy fight, players will take out the wannabe criminals and be on their way.

The criminals will also drop between $10 and $50. It shouldn't have to be said but just to make sure, do not follow random people into an alley at night.

2 Escape Paparazzi

Franklin taking a selfie with the celebrity he helped

While driving down Vinewood Boulevard, players will see a celebrity surrounded by paparazzi. She will ask for help, prompting players to drive her back to her home. Be warned, as running over the paparazzi or anything violent towards them will cause the celebrity to run away.

Stealing either of the bikes nearby will also cause the mission to end, with the paparazzi mistaking the player for a celebrity. Driving the celebrity home will earn the player $750. Alternatively, Trevor can take her to the Altruist Camp for $1000.

1 Monkey Mosaic

The player finding one of the monkey mosaics

Before this encounter occurs, players must find and photograph all 50 monkey mosaics found around Los Santos. After this, drive around the Los Santos Customs located in Burton. A blue dot should appear, and players will need to sneak up on the dot.

After doing so, players need to take a picture of the artist to complete the encounter. Doing this gives the players a unique Blista Compact. Players need to make sure they have room in their garages, otherwise, they might not receive the reward.
