Rockstar’s support for Grand Theft Auto Online has shown no sign of stopping anytime soon, and with Halloween right around the corner, a new update seems likely. According to a Rockstar insider, that update will be unlocking the recently leaked UFO business battle for all GTA Online players.

The original GTA Online UFO mission leak was discovered by skilled dataminers called The Game File Gurus, who were set off about the possibility of a mission by the odd inclusion of an older GTA UFO model. With the code experts believing the random inclusion of a UFO from a GTA 5 easter egg seemed sketchy, they dove into the files and quickly discovered that their suspicions were correct.

There is a full mission set to come to GTA Online based on the UFO, and according to a Rockstar insider, players will be seeing it very soon. Tez2, the insider in question, was asked by a GTA fan when the secret mission would become available. Tez2 immediately confirmed the fan’s suspicions of the mission arriving with other Halloween content next week, so fans may want to dress up as Aliens in GTA Online to celebrate the occasion.

Rockstar’s inclusion of a secret UFO mission is a long time coming considering how prevalent the alien ships have been in the studio’s other games. With multiple UFOs able to be found in Red Dead Redemption 2 and a complex Mount Chiliad easter egg that spawns the ships in GTA 5, Unidentified Flying Objects are a perfect fit within GTA Online. With players already knowing that the mission takes place in Fort Zancudo, many fans will be ready to play the UFO-focused content the second Rockstar makes it available.

Even though gameplay of the entire mission was posted by The Game File Gurus back in August, many fans have been excited to experience the content for themselves. However, the addition of even more content to GTA Online is likely to upset players of Red Dead Redemption 2’s online mode even more. Fans of the Western were already upset about Red Dead Online’s Halloween content compared to GTA Online, and with an entire UFO mission coming to GTA for Halloween as well, those frustrations are likely to continue.

Regardless, GTA Online players should have a blast doing the UFO job around Halloween. Until the special new content comes, fans can pass the time by continuing to debate over which GTA characters would be in Slytherin.

GTA Online is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, and will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X in 2021.
