Every so often, a new rumor concerning Grand Theft Auto 6 appears online, but considering that Grand Theft Auto 5 is the most profitable entertainment product of all time, that's not really surprising. More often than not, these rumors come from an unverifiable source on the internet, yet the latest could have real weight behind it. Fans have spotted what they believe to be the setting of the next game during a recent trailer for Grand Theft Auto Online's Diamond Casino heist.

As seen below, there is one moment in this GTA Online trailer where eagle-eyed fans see a layout of the world. Every continent except for South America, however, is blacked out, thereby suggesting that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be taking players there. What's more, these fans also believe that this info is corroborated by other Rockstar Games material, like the Doomsday Heist and Red Dead Redemption 2.

The Doomsday Heist facility computer had three cities circled: Vice City, Cuba, and Colombia. There was also a mention of Project Americas in Red Dead Redemption 2 files, with many also thinking that the RDR2's Guarma location was a practice run for the jungles of Colombia. While this all sounds like tinfoil hat territory, it's worth mentioning that Grand Theft Auto 5's short North Yankton section preceded the snowy, mountainous areas of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Of course, all of this should still be taken with a grain of salt, as no one but Rockstar Games truly knows what's going on behind closed doors. This rumor does line up with prior Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks that suggested there would be multiple locations and time periods within the next game, as there are 3 cities players could find themselves in spread across at least 3 different time periods. Yet, it's possible that these are no more than rumors, as other leaks indicate that Rockstar Games' next release isn't even GTA 6.

Many have pointed to clues, rumors, and leaks that Bully 2 would be the next release from Rockstar Games, yet that isn't even the end of it. Another leaker has claimed that the next game is a new Rockstar IP focused on medieval times, complete with sword fighting and all. Of course, any of these can be complete fabrications or intentional misdirections, so until Rockstar officially announced something, everything should be taken with a grain of salt.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is rumored to be in development.
