Released as the multiplayer companion to Grand Theft Auto 5 in 2013, Grand Theft Auto Online has been a money-making machine for developer Rockstar Games. Having now sold over 145 million copies, GTA 5 and Online have reportedly generated over six billion dollars in revenue since their launch eight years ago. The game is still being supported too, with GTA Online's Los Santos Tuners update having just arrived in July of this year.

Grand Theft Auto Online’s astounding success can be attributed to many factors, such as its massive living world, realistic physics, and sheer entertainment value. Grand Theft Auto Online allows players to grow their wealth in the city of Los Santos and its surrounding areas while running races, heists, and more, with their friends. GTA Online also features an extensive character creation suite, allowing players to make unique original avatars or try to replicate famous characters from other popular properties, like when a GTA Online roleplayer was found dressing up as Wario.

Reddit user ChuklzDaJ has used GTA Online’s character creator to recreate Ricky LaFleur from the cult-classic Canadian mockumentary series, Trailer Park Boys. The show follows the misadventures of several trailer park residents in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. ChuklzDaJ's rendition of Ricky captures the character’s iconic wavy hair, checkered button-down shirt, and black sunglasses. The GTA Online Reddit community has embraced the post with open arms, giving it over 800 upvotes as of writing. Other users are praising ChuklzDaJ’s adaptation for its authenticity and are celebrating by sharing various hilarious Trailer Park Boys’ quotes.

Powerful character creation tools in games like Red Dead Redemption Online and GTA Online go a long way towards letting players really dive into the role-playing aspects of a title. Comprehensive customization options allow fans to express themselves and have a more personal experience with a game. Of course, Grand Theft Auto Online isn’t the only game that features an impressive amount of character customization. Various MMOs like The Elder Scrolls Online or World of Warcraft have a wide range of possibilities for players to tinker with, and the upcoming Saints Row reboot is said to have the series’ most in-depth customization options yet. Still, Grand Theft Auto Online is certainly one of the best options available for creative role-players like ChuklzDaJ and many others, especially when you consider the vast array of vehicle customization options.

Grand Theft Auto Online is available to play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The next-gen Expanded and Enhanced version is set to release in March 2022.
