Despite having been available for nearly five years at this point, Rockstar Games continues to bring free updates to Grand Theft Auto Online, GTA 5's multiplayer component. Now, the developer has decided to boost the nightlife scene for the streets of Los Santos with fresh content. Starting in July, players will get an update called Nightclubs, with Rockstar explaining that a "well-known, well-connected and somewhat financially sound impresario the underground dance club scene" is funding this operation.

As seen in the trailer below, Grand Theft Auto Online's forthcoming Nightclubs update will bring the likes of Solomun, Tale of Us, Dixon, and The Black Madonna into the game so they can take up residencies at various clubs and warehouses around Los Santos. Of course, with this being the world of GTA, there's an illicit underbelly to these new ventures, with Rockstar stating, "Nightclubs are the perfect cover for any other operation . . . so get in on the ground level as a business partner to open up a brand new establishment, and help the DJ’s make their shows the best ever."

According to Rockstar, Nightclubs will let players run their establishments with customization choices related to its "setup, design, staffing, and promotion." One of the primary aims of the business is to become the most popular club out there, which will obviously result in more money. What's more is that the new business will provide a way for players to launder their money from sketchier operations like Disruption Logisitics, The Open Road, and SecuroServ.

Taking all of this into account, while this is far from the community's highly requested single-player DLC, Nightclubs will surely keep Grand Theft Auto Online fans expanding their virtual criminal empires into the foreseeable future. Rockstar has promised that more news related to the forthcoming update is on the way, so it will be interesting to see what else the new content will bring to the table.

Grand Theft Auto Online and all of its latest updates are available now through Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
