Not long after a potential Premium Edition of the game was possibly unearthed in a recent report, Grand Theft Auto 5 will also see some new content added to its online mode, Grand Theft Auto Online. This content comes in the form of a new racing mode and 5 new vehicles.

Even almost 4 years after its release for current gen consoles, Grand Theft Auto 5 still remains a very popular game. Part of this popularity stems from Rockstar games providing new content for Grand Theft Auto Online, and the company announced today via the Rockstar Social Club that it would be adding even more content.

Following the launch of the Doomsday Heist just a few months back and releasing today, GTA Online will be getting a new racing mode and 5 new vehicles. The new racing mode, called Hotring Circuit is a blend of Vice City's Hotring races with a bit of GTA Online's penchant for wild stunts thrown in for good measure.

The five new vehicles being added are a mix of different car styles. For those who enjoy the look of high end sports cars, either the Taipan or Entity XXR should satiate the need for pure speed. Race car fans can look forward the Declasse Hotring Sabre or Vapid GB200. The Sabre looks like a classic stock car, while the Vapid is a rally car. Finally, for those wishing to take a family outing, there's the Vulcar Fagaloa, which is reminiscent of classic VW station wagons.

The post also mentioned another mode that would be making its way to the game on April 3rd. Called Target Assault, it looks to mix driving and shooting challenges. Teams of 2 will be in each vehicle, with one player driving while the other mans a mounted machine gun turret. The driver will need to navigate the track and jockey for position while the gunner takes out targets that earn the team points. There were other minor updates talked about which can found in more detail on the Social Club post.

Rockstar recently revealed that the game had sold 90 million copies, which means there is a large player base for the title. This content should give those players even more to do in the game's multiplayer sandbox.

Grand Theft Auto Online and all of its latest updates are available now within Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
