A GTA Online player ended up annoyed and confused when they discovered where their recently requested motorcycle ended up. Calling one of the player's many vehicles to be dropped off near their location is a function every player uses, but it doesn't always work as intended, like in this instance.

This is far from the first time that players have had problems with asking their mechanic to deliver a car. However, it's worth noting that Rockstar Games did improve this mechanic fairly recently, as the GTA Online Criminal Enterprises update made mechanics deliver vehicles more quickly.

Unfortunately, this player's mechanic doesn't seem to know what they're doing. GTA player and Reddit user Diamond_ultra_yt shared their experience with a gameplay clip, where they can be seen driving around near the Los Santos River on a motorcycle. After making a sharp turn and plunging into the water, their bike promptly stops working, so they called up the GTA motorcycle club menu to request a replacement for it. A moment later, the player runs towards the delivery, but when the bike comes into view, it becomes clear that the mechanic dropped it off in the middle of the river, immediately killing the vehicle.

Needless to say, this isn't supposed to happen with the game. Typically, requesting any kind of ground vehicle results in the mechanic delivering it to a nearby location, but generally either directly on a street or in a parking lot. However, the fact that they used the motorcycle club to summon their bike might be partially at fault. These types of vehicle deliveries are generally dropped off much closer to the player than the standard mechanic's drop-offs. Even so, it shouldn't have happened in a body of water.

While this was probably a nuisance to the player, thankfully replacing a totaled vehicle in GTA Online isn't a problem. Assuming the player insures their rides, vehicle replacements can be requested over the phone for a relatively low cost. However, it might be wise for anyone who is within or near a body of water to move a little further away from it before trying to call a bike, just to be on the safe side.

The mechanic delivery system has had minor bugs like this before, leading to problems like a GTA Online car being dropped off extremely far from the player. While the function is an extremely handy one for every player, it may not always work correctly, so players should use it with caution.

GTA Online is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
