Since its initial release in 2013, Grand Theft Auto Online has seen a large amount of DLC expansion packs to ensure that the players get the best online experience ever. For Rockstar, the video game publisher, GTAO is a revenue monster, racking them a whopping $1 billion in four years, as TweakTown reported.

Unfortunately, not every DLC update witnessed the same amount of excitement over the other. Started from its first 'Beach Bum Update' back in 2013, these are 5 of the best and the worst of Grand Theft Auto Online DLC updates.

10 Best: Stunt Race Event

Back in 2017, Rockstar released the Stunt Race Event update, which contained over 15 brand-new challenging tracks and 25% off for some high-quality in-game cars like Emperor ETR1 and Lampadati Tropos Rallye.

It's a fun mode to do if you're the kind of thrill-living player. A series of jumps, loops, and hazards will ensure that only the best of the best get to top the podium.

9 Worst: Executives and Other Criminals

Just because the reveal trailer has some Vice City vibe, that doesn't mean 'Executive and Other Criminals' DLC update would feel as good as it seems. In this DLC, players are required to be the richest of the richest, creating their own criminal organization.

As good as it sounds, the DLC only features two new weapons: the Switchblade and Heavy Revolver, and up to 73 new clothing items. On top of that, this DLC only caters to the rich and gamers who actually spend real-life currency for microtransactions.

8 Best: Gunrunning

The next best is the 2017 'Gunrunning' update to unleash your inner beast and satisfy your appetite for destruction. It has a massive expansion, ranging for over 690 clothing items to 10 weaponized vehicles ready to wreak havoc the city of Los Santos.

For this update, players may invest in the shady business of arm-dealing, and it's possible to make a million a day if you're dedicated enough to spend a considerable amount of time a day.

7 Worst: Lowriders

Upon its reveal trailer release, 'Lowriders' DLC met positive approval among the fans, calling it a flashback to the ol' school San Andreas gangsta days. Players can take missions from Lamar Davis, Franklin's sidekick from the Grove Street, and visit the new Benny's Original Motorworks custom shop to update their wheels.

Unfortunately, it's way too overpriced, especially during the earlier stage of the game, where having one or two million makes you rich. It cost over GTA$ 300,000 to modify your lowrider wheel alone.

6 Best: Heists

Grand Theft Auto is not GTA without its adrenaline-pacing heists, and its 2015 'Heists' update gave players the freedom to team-up with three other players 'to pull off a string of intense multi-part heists, raids and robberies.'

Released in 2015, 'Heists' featured five additional heist missions with different rewards of each. It started with the small-time Fleeca Bank robbery, with the prize of $143,750 in 'hard' mode, and ended with The Pacific Standard Bank with a score of over $1.25 million.

5 Worst: Cunning Stunts

More racing update, GTAO's 'Cunning Stunts' was an update that was released back in 2016. As the DLC title suggests, 'Cunning Stunts' is a more extreme version of the 'Stunt Race Events' with over 27 new stunt tracks ready to be explored and plenty other of player's customization options.

Unfortunately, most of these stunt tracks feel repetitive at best. On top of that, the game's drafting mechanism is a little broken and unrealistic. Either way, it's still a fun mode to play against online players, even if all the hassle and trial-and-error attempts sometimes get too unrewarding.

4 Best: The Diamond Casino & Resort

Prior to its release, the 2019 'Diamond Casino & Resort' DLC pack had been hyped for months among the Grand Theft Auto community. As the title suggests, the DLC lets players participate in Los Santos' most luxurious casinos to make some money.

Was all the hype worth it? Definitely. Although some missions get a little repetitive, some positive points can still be extracted from this update. The 'Lucky Wheels' gambling is addictive even if you should never rely on your luck on it. Unfortunately, some countries like South Korea and Saudi Arabia have banned the DLC due to their anti-gambling policy.

3 Worst: Beach Bum Update

As mentioned above, 'Beach Bum Update' was the first expansion pack of Grand Theft Auto Online, and it makes total sense if it gets overrun by other quality DLCs that came during the latter years.

There isn't much upgrade from this patch, except for four beach-themed vehicles and useless weapons like broken bottles and the SNS Pistol; hence it's placed so low on this list.

2 Best: Bikers

The 'Bikers' update is a call-back to The Lost and the Damned DLC from Grand Theft Auto IV, so it's no surprise if many fans love this. Eight players are free to team-up to form their own MC (motorcycle club) with different roles from Prospects to the President. Clubhouses and Businesses are another vital cornerstones of the club to sell products and make profits.

On top of that, a wide variety of motorbikes from the original LCC Avarus to the futuristic-looking Nagasaki Shotaro are available to purchase.

1 Worst: Ill Gotten Gains Pt. 1

The 'Ill-Gotten Gains Part 1' is Rockstar drawing a line in the sand from casual gamers to big money spenders. It's highly unforgiving for low-income players because of how agonizingly painful and expensive the pack's items are. A high-end vehicle can cost more than five million dollars, such an unrealistic standard of that year.

Fortunately, this DLC features a little throwback to the good ol' The Ballad of Gay Tony days with its Yusuf Amir luxurious, engraved new tints for Riffles and SMGs.
