Grand Theft Auto 5 is a 2013 action-adventure game developed by Rockstar Games that is still widely popular, especially after many re-releases and upgrades over the years. Though it has gone through various patches and updates, GTA 5 still has a wide array of glitches and bugs, all smaller graphical issues that don't truly break the game or affect gameplay too negatively.

Grand Theft Auto 5's visuals, quests, side missions, extra activities, characters, and environments are all very impressive, engaging, and dynamic, but the game is so vast with so many things happening at once that it is bound to have a few glitches. As long as these glitches don't completely break the game, they don't impede the player from moving forward in the story, or they don't corrupt a save file, they are basically harmless.

Redditor JamesHalloran experiences one of these glitches as they get into a collision on a motorcycle in the game. They are thrown from the motorcycle onto a curb next to a light post, and there doesn't seem to be enough space for the character to go through the getting up animation, causing the game to push the character away. This sends the player into a sort of in-between space in which the underground rooms nearby can be seen.

GTA 5's Los Santos is a busy place, with lots of people and vehicles moving around, many layers of environmental space available for the player to explore, and other events and programmed instances occurring simultaneously. So, when the right set of random events occurs in an unexpected way, glitches and bugs are bound to happen, especially after a collision that sends a player flying a longer distance.

The clip does not play long enough to see how the player gets out of the situation, but it doesn't seem like the game is in a crashing state. It is possible that the player will drop into the underground room, and the game will reload the environment accordingly. GTA 5's vehicles are all unique and have a variety of physics rules applied to them, and so does the environment, so it isn't surprising that something like this could happen after moving at a high speed on a motorcycle.

It is true that glitches can cause a break from the immersion of a game, but most of the time, the break is minor and not permanent. For a game made in 2013, it is encouraging that GTA 5 gets updated even all the way in 2022, assuring players that glitches and bugs will be patched out and the experience will get smoother and smoother as time passes.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
