With Red Dead Online and Grand Theft Auto Online still remaining two of the biggest multiplayer games in the world, it's clear that Rockstar isn't under pressure to reveal its next big game anytime soon. The company has always been incredibly tight-lipped when it comes to future projects, and although leaks seem to be gearing the company towards both a new Medieval IP or Grand Theft Auto 6, it evidently isn't looking to announce whether there's any truth to the claims just yet.

Fans have, however, began to speculate about a new piece of artwork published on the company's homepage. The design envisions a robotic woman made of pure gold embracing Rockstar's classic logo, with a bottle of champaign in a bucket of ice to her left and some scattered rose petals on the floor beneath her.

As with most Rockstar artwork, the design is incredibly cartoony, seemingly sporting a similar visual style to the iconic box art of the Grand Theft Auto series. Of course, fans are obviously not theorizing that Rockstar are looking to take the franchise into a future of cyborgs and androids. Instead, many have speculated about the champagne bottle located to the left of the robotic woman, which seemingly might contain an interesting nod to an upcoming game.

While the bottle itself is innocuous, a label on the top of the Champagne reads 1998, which fans are now speculating could be the time period Grand Theft Auto 6 will be set in. It would definitely be an interesting setting for the franchise as well, with many beginning to look back on the 90s with reverence. Of course, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was also set in 1992, and with it easily being one of the company's most beloved games to date, it could be a smart move for Rockstar to pay homage to its roots. 1998, it should be noted, was also the year Rockstar Games was founded, and it may not mean anything more than that.

However, it's worth remembering to take the speculation with a pinch of salt. Grand Theft Auto fans are renown for theorizing about the smallest of teases due to Rockstar's incredibly reserved approach to marketing, with a recent example being at the Super Bowl, where a number of Redditers were convinced the game's Vice City inspired visuals were confirming the sixth game. With Rockstar recently losing Dan Houser, it could be even longer until fans inevitably get their hands on Grand Theft Auto 6, so this is likely a mere coincidence that shouldn't be taken as gospel.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is rumored to be in development for unspecified consoles.
