Rockstar Games fans may have stumbled upon the latest development rumors for Grand Theft Auto 6. Since it's 2013 release, Grand Theft Auto 5 continues to be a timeless hit, even topping multiple sales charts long after its launch. With the start of 2020, players continue to hunger for more Grand Theft Auto news, digging far and wide across the internet for any credible evidence, which has just emerged from an unlikely source.

In the past few months, more claims have continued to pop up from across the world and different corners of social media. Recent rumors suggest a change to open-world exploration and a tax report further lending proof to an upcoming sixth GTA game in the series. However, the newest addition to a growing pile of theories is from the Instagram of someone with a previous history at Rockstar Games.

Tim Neff is an industry stuntsman who has worked with Rockstar Games like Red Dead Redemption 2 in the past. His Instagram post in question was a photo of him holding several guns while doing motion capture work. Based off the design and model of the guns, some fans think the image aligns with theories that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be set in the 1980s. However, the post has since been removed and Tim Neff's account has been made private.

From the chain of events, there's a chance the post could actually be related to Grand Theft Auto 6. Tim Neff has previously denied working on Red Dead Redemption 2 even though he was named in the post-credits, and a similar situation could be at work here. With the barrage of questions and theories from fans, Neff could have removed the post to avoiding causing more confusion or as a request from Rockstar Games. But without further answers from Neff or other sources, the ideas spawned from the image are products of speculation at best.

Despite the unconfirmed theories floating around, there is a likely chance that Rockstar Games provides an official announcement this year regarding GTA 6. With influx of rumors towards the end of 2019, a new wave of interest spawned that has continued strong into 2020 so far. To that end, with the competition from other companies and titles in the next few months, Rockstar Games has to be preparing something soon.

In the end, even without a release date, fans of the Grand Theft Auto series know the wait will be worth it. With the new consoles and innovations coming soon, there are sure to be many graphic and gameplay improvements in Grand Theft Auto 6 since GTA 5 last released in 2013.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is rumored to be in development for unspecified platforms.
