With Rockstar seemingly sticking to its guns that Grand Theft Auto 5 will continue to be the company's flagship title as the game plans to release on PS5, new information may have come to light about the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. This comes as fans brace to see the latest title in the GTA series span across three console generations, with no official news releasing for a sequel to the almost seven-year-old game.

The latest information on the possible progress of GTA 6 comes from an updated resume for a Rockstar employee, who recently added a new project and job title to their experience. According to Twitter user @NickPlaysGamesX, a four-year Rockstar employee named Sarah Overend changed titles from Junior Animator to Animator and claims to have worked on Red Dead Online animations, as well as a second title that has yet to be announced.

Overend's resume does not state what this new title is, however it does imply that the game involves weapons with a similar style to Red Dead Online, seeing as how it lumped the two games together. So, while it isn't confirmed that this new title is GTA 6, it does still hint that whatever Rockstar's next title may be, it is likely in the same vein as GTA and RDR. Additionally, the biggest reveal from this resume might also mean that GTA 6 is further along than most players expect it to be, considering how long Overend has reportedly been working on the most recent project.

While the change in job title isn't completely indicative of when development began on this unannounced title, it does suggest that Overend's work on the game began all the way back in December of 2018. This lends credibility to previous leaks that GTA 6's development is further along than official statements by Rockstar games have indicated in the past. That is of course if this upcoming title is indeed the next game in the GTA series, which can't be confirmed at the time of this writing.

It wouldn't be a leap of logic to consider GTA 6 to be Rockstar's most highly anticipated title, even without the game ever officially being announced. Players were hoping to see news at the PS5 reveal and ended up disappointed to see GTA 5 leading the way towards the next-gen. However, with over a year and a half of development allegedly spent on the game's animation, this latest leak might be exactly the news players need to stay excited.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
