It seems as though there is a new supposed Grand Theft Auto 6 leak every day, with people making all sorts of claims about the likely-in-development open world game. While nothing official on Grand Theft Auto 6 has been announced by Rockstar, there's yet another rumor making the rounds online about GTA 6, specifically when it comes to the game's possible release date.

Twitter user PSErebus, who has mainly posted what is supposedly insider information on the PS5's release date and price, has now turned their attention to Grand Theft Auto 6. Even though some past rumors have claimed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be a PS5 launch title, PSErebus says that the GTA 6 release date will actually be fall 2021, meaning fans of Rockstar's open world franchise have at least two years to wait before they can get their hands on the new game.

A fall 2021 release date seems plausible for GTA 6. That would put the game three years out from Red Dead Redemption 2's release date, which seems like a realistic amount of time that fans can expect Rockstar's next game. Of course, it's possible Rockstar will release something before then, though the company has focused on fewer, larger releases in recent years.

PSErebus provides zero evidence to back up their claim, so fans should take this news with a massive grain of salt. Until Rockstar itself releases information on Grand Theft Auto 6, fans shouldn't get their hopes up about the game. That being said, there are those who think Rockstar itself has been hinting at Grand Theft Auto 6, so maybe an official announcement for the game could come sooner rather than later.

For example, Rockstar's Christmas gift to its employees contained some badges of its logo decorated with the Colombian flag, fueling speculation that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be set in South America. Possible teases in the trailers for the new GTA Online Diamond Heist DLC have been analyzed by the community, with many thinking that GTA Online is also teasing a GTA 6 South American setting.

Again, nothing has been confirmed by Rockstar, and fans should take all of this with a grain of salt. The GTA 6 release date is completely up in the air at this point, though it will be interesting to see if PSErebus is telling the truth.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is rumored to be in development for unspecified platforms.
