Grand Theft Auto 6 fans have been clamoring for news on the game, analyzing every new piece of content released for GTA Online for clues. However, fans have now discovered a potential Grand Theft Auto 6 clue hidden in Rockstar's Max Payne 3, which launched all the way back in May of 2012.
In Max Payne 3, there is a poster listing tour dates for the band Love Fist. As it so happens, most of the dates line up with the release dates for various Rockstar Games titles, and the cities listed by the dates even match their corresponding games. For example, the poster says Love Fist is going to Liberty City on April 29, and April 29, 2008 was the release date of Grand Theft Auto 4. It then goes on to have the Red Dead Redemption release date, the Grand Theft Auto 5 release date, and the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date (though it should be noted that date also matches with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas).
The final date listed on the poster is October 29, with Love Fist said to be visiting Vice City. Fans have taken this to mean that Grand Theft Auto 6's release date will be October 29, either in 2020 or 2021, and that the game will be set in Vice City as has been previously rumored.
While some fans are no doubt excited about this, it should be noted that this is quite likely just a coincidence. The chances that Rockstar Games had the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date planned all the way back in 2012 are slim to none, and this is most likely just a coincidence. After all, the first date doesn't appear to coincide with anything, and Grand Theft Auto 4 launched before Max Payne 3, as did Red Dead Redemption. The Red Dead Redemption 2 release date is the same as the San Andreas release date, so it's possible that the only date accurately predicted here is the GTA 5 one.
Regardless of how unlikely this is to actually reveal the GTA 6 release date, it's not surprising that some fans have gotten excited about it. Rumors have been swirling that a Grand Theft Auto 6 announcement is imminent, especially since Rockstar recently updated GTA 6-related websites, but nothing official has been confirmed to date.
Whenever Grand Theft Auto 6 is revealed, it will be interesting to see if there was every any truth to the various rumors surrounding the game, like its supposed brother and sister dual protagonists or any of the other supposed "leaks" that have popped up over the years. It will also be interesting to see if the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date is October 29 as some think this poster is predicting.
