Grand Theft Auto 6 rumors are a dime-a-dozen, and this may be especially true following the latest debacle. A recent report indicated Grand Theft Auto 6 was in early development, meaning it would still be quite a few years before it ever surfaced. Other insiders denied this report, stating it was closer to 60-70% done, with rumors even popping up that its main story was finished.

Either way, the latest rumor should be taken with equal measures of salt following the recent rumors and leaks, as it too appears to be made in response to this. Two posts appeared on the anonymous image board 4chan, with both originating from the same employee. The leaker claims to be friends with a disgruntled employee, which given that was the claim against the Last of Us 2 leaker (later confirmed not to be true), it's entirely possible this is all made up.

Nonetheless, it claims active development on Grand Theft Auto 6 began in 2016 or 2017, with the game map apparently both similar to Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and the size of GTA 5 and RDR2 combined. It reportedly has 3 major cities with 1 smaller city to the northwest, like GTA San Andreas. The area is supposedly based on Florida, but Vice City isn't the only major area.

There are reportedly 4 protagonists, one named Walter Wallace, a currently un-named former IDF soldier, a smuggler known as Thomas Branigan who owns a plan called The Raven, and Marcus Burke, a single father. The story focuses on what these characters seemingly have in common, the drug trade, and players will visit a small island in Central America (not RDR2's Guarma though). There are time skips, although how and why isn't stated.

Other details include the return of RDR2 cores, improved character switching, improved parkour, better weapon functionability, impoved hand-to-hand combat, character-specific powers, the return of Mori Kibbutz, weight gain, and more. This reportedly comes from info in 2019, although the leaker denies any knowledge of reveals or trailers.

At the end of the day, this rumor sounds like a smorgasbord of features taken from a variety of Rockstar Games titles. With the "source" of information and seemingly direct reliance on disproving the aforementioned early development report, fans are best to file this away until more concrete information surfaces, either confirming or de-confirmed this claim. After all, it sounds more like a Grand Theft Auto 6 fan theory.
