Grand Theft Auto fans believe they've found a clue regarding Grand Theft Auto 6 hidden in Rockstar Games' "Happy Holidays" Twitter message. It's fair to say that Grand Theft Auto fans are desperate for any information regarding Rockstar Games' next major release. That can lead to a lot of unreliable rumors and hearsay regarding Grand Theft Auto 6, but a recent discovery hidden in Rockstar's digital Christmas card does raise an eyebrow.

Rockstar likes to send a holiday message to fans of Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and the company's other games every year. This year's message was relatively simple. It reads "Happy Holidays from Rockstar Games" and features an animated piece of art of a Christmas tree. Ornaments on the Christmas tree include brass knuckles, razor blades, grenades, pills, and the Rockstar Games logo. It's fun and relatively innocuous, but there is one curious inclusion.

Near the top of the Rockstar holiday art is a helicopter, and a surprisingly detailed one at that. Unsurprisingly, Grand Theft Auto fans took one look at this helicopter and knew it was their duty to find out which Grand Theft Auto game it was from. They compared it to Grand Theft Auto 5's LSPD helicopter, the game's ambulance helicopter, and helicopters from Grand Theft Auto 3, 4, and other games. There was no match until a photo of a Miami-Dade police helicopter was found.

To be clear, this is a photograph of a real helicopter, seemingly stumbled upon at random by a Grand Theft Auto fan. It has nothing to do with Grand Theft Auto, other than fans believe it looks remarkably similar to the image in the holiday message. Due to these similarities, fans allege that this is potentially a Rockstar clue regarding Grand Theft Auto 6. The basic idea is that since the helicopter is from Miami-Dade, Grand Theft Auto 6 is set in the same location as Vice City as Miami is what Vice City was based on.

It's true that the helicopters do look like they're identical in the model, but saying that it's a clue from Rockstar is a tremendous stretch. Dropping a clue that fans may never latch onto, and which is so ambiguous it won't be confirmed until Grand Theft Auto 6 itself is fully revealed, would be quite the endeavor. Nevertheless, it is quite a funny coincidence that the helicopter does look like the one used by the Miami-Dade county police.

What pulls the whole rumor together is that Vice City is already heavily rumored to be the setting of Grand Theft Auto 6. Due to that, Grand Theft Auto fans were able to reverse-engineer this supposed clue. Whether it's something Rockstar intended or a fun conspiracy theory may never be made clear.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is in development.
