With Grand Theft Auto 5 being one of the best-selling video games of all time, it's no surprise that many fans are hotly anticipating the inevitable Grand Theft Auto 6. Unfortunately for Grand Theft Auto fans, Rockstar has made no indication that it plans on revealing Grand Theft Auto 6 anytime soon, with reputable leakers believing that the game won't have its proper reveal until late 2022 at the earliest, with a likely release sometime in 2023.

Whether or not those rumors about the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date are accurate remains to be seen, but regardless, the rumors about the game keep on coming. Leakers and fans are filling the void left by the lack of Grand Theft Auto 6 news by spreading rumors and supposed "leaks" online, with the latest leak claiming to give fans a look at what is supposedly the map from the new game.

Recently, a new look at what is supposedly the Grand Theft Auto 6 map has been making the rounds online, looking like an updated version of a map that originally "leaked" three years ago. The map shows a city in the top right, complete with a beachfront, attached to what appears to be a fairly large rural area and swamplands. This is not far from the approach that Grand Theft Auto 5 took with its map, and so that combined with the fact that maps for Rockstar Games titles have leaked online in the past has led some to believe that this could be a legitimate leak.

Of course, fans should take this information with a massive grain of salt. There's no concrete evidence that says that this Grand Theft Auto 6 map leak is legitimate, and it's entirely possibly that it's been faked. In fact, while there have been some legitimate Rockstar Games map leaks over the years, there have been far more fake leaks, like when the fake Bully 2 map leaked online a couple of years ago.

With Grand Theft Auto 6 being such an anticipated game without having even been announced yet, it makes it especially vulnerable to fake leaks. With that in mind, anyone looking forward to Grand Theft Auto 6 should treat leaks about the game with a great deal of skepticism. Unless the information is coming directly from Rockstar Games itself, it's better to keep one's expectations in check.

That being said, something consistent with the Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks has been the belief that GTA 6 will be set in Vice City. Whether or not that winds up being the case has yet to be determined, and unfortunately, fans shouldn't expect any clarification anytime soon.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is rumored to be in development for unspecified platforms.
