Grand Theft Auto 6 is already one of the most talked-about games in the industry, despite how little is known about it. With its predecessor originally releasing a decade ago, fans are desperate to get their hands on the upcoming franchise entry.

While fans are constantly on the lookout for any kind of information regarding Grand Theft Auto 6, the release date of the title is the most sought-after. Confirmation of a release date would finally give fans sensible expectations, and Rockstar may have just subtly suggested when it expects the game to drop. Thanks to a recent financial report for Rockstar, it seems that GTA 6 may come in fiscal year 2025.

Rockstar's Recent Financial Report

Rockstar has been noticeably quiet on the GTA 6 front ever since the game was announced in February 2022. The massively damaging and high-profile leaks regarding Grand Theft Auto 6 in September 2022 did not help, with Rockstar practicing damage control around that time and going quiet thereafter. While this is understandable, a recent report made public by Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar, seems to hint at when it'll release.

The report focuses extensively on the 2025 fiscal year, with Take-Two expecting to see huge amounts of revenue during this time. In all, the report estimates $8 billion in Net Bookings during the fiscal year 2025, thanks to the launch of "several groundbreaking titles." These titles are described within the report as being expected to "set new standards" within the industry, very much falling in line with the fan expectations of Grand Theft Auto 6.

As well, the report suggests that these earnings will increase even further in the years following 2025, meaning these projects are intended to be longstanding. While the report does not name these projects, many fans are coming to the same logical conclusion.

Grand Theft Auto 6's Potential 2025 Release Window

While many did not expect Grand Theft Auto 6 to release any time soon, a release within the next few years is very possible. The main indication that the aforementioned report concerns GTA 6 is in the expected Net Bookings for 2025. Net Bookings as high as $8 billion would only be achieved by a title as anticipated as GTA 6. There are obviously other avenues, but none as concrete as this title. Considering that GTA 5 is one of the most profitable games ever, it is no wonder so many think the report refers to the next franchise installment.

The report's indication that similar high amounts of revenue will come in the years after 2025 also bodes well for the Grand Theft Auto 6 rumors. With it being likely that the title will feature its own version of GTA Online, the release of GTA 6 would ensure a huge revenue stream for the foreseeable future for Rockstar and Take-Two.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is also the next expected major release for Rockstar, giving further validity to the possibility of the title being released in 2025. Perhaps most telling is the report's assertion that the 2025 releases will set new standards for the gaming industry. Each mainline GTA release has been renowned for re-writing the gaming landscape of its time, and Grand Theft Auto 6 will surely be looking to do the same. While this report is not an absolute confirmation, the stated expected revenue from high-profile 2025 releases seems to indicate that GTA 6 is just around the corner.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently in development.
