The Grand Theft Auto community supports an economy of rumors, leaks, and datamines all on its own, and even though it has not been announced yet, Grand Theft Auto 6 has already inherited that economy. One of the latest and most talked about Grand Theft Auto 6 rumors is about the game's protagonists. If it's true, Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature the franchise's first female protagonist, and a prominent Grand Theft Auto leaker said he's confident in the rumor's veracity.

YouTuber LegacyKillaHD shared on Twitter that they can verify the current leak being spread about Grand Theft Auto 6's protagonist. They say the leaks shared in the last few years that Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature a female protagonist are true. Their source for the claim isn't cited, but is supposed to be someone "in the know," and they supposedly confirmed the rumor to LegacyKillaHD "a few years ago."

The YouTuber sais in another tweet that Grand Theft Auto 6, much like Grand Theft Auto 5, will feature multiple protagonists. As such, the female protagonist likely won't be the only one in the game. This is echoed in the rumor that led to LegacyKillaHD addressing the topic in the first place, shared by the MrBossFTW YouTube channel. MrBossFTW said Grand Theft Auto 6 will have multiple protagonists, confirming both a female and a male protagonist.

It should be said that none of these supposed leaks have been confirmed. They're leaks that source anonymous or unreliable individuals, and given LegacyKillaHD says they received their leaked info years ago it becomes unreliable at a new level. Even if Rockstar did have plans for a female protagonist for Grand Theft Auto 6, which isn't certain, it could have changed its plans multiple times over the past few years.

The other rumor that LegacyKillaHD addresses in their tweet is the so-called "Project Americas" leak. This leak claims that Grand Theft Auto 6 will take place in multiple different locations, including Liberty City from Grand Theft Auto 3. LegacyKillaHD said this rumor is also true, again confirmed some years ago.

As for when fans will find out the truth of these rumors, it may be some time yet. Rockstar has made no official announcements regarding its next game, including whether or not it will be Grand Theft Auto 6. The only hint about a timeframe is a nod to it being 2022 or 2023 before the studio begins talking about the game. As such, Grand Theft Auto fans may be waiting a while yet.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is rumored to be in development.
