A copy of Grand Theft Auto 6 is found in the wild in Brazil, giving gamers around the world a good laugh as it's clear the title is a bootleg of GTA San Andreas.

Since Grand Theft Auto 5's initial release back in 2013, developer Rockstar Games has shipped more than 70 million copies of the game across multiple platforms. The game continues to sell well more than 100 weeks since it first came out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with the title hitting #1 on the UK charts for the 10th time earlier this month.  Grand Theft Auto 5's overwhelming success makes it all but guaranteed that Rockstar will one day release another entry in its best-selling franchise but now it seems that a bootlegger has hilariously beaten Rockstar to the market.

A photo of Grand Theft Auto 6 popped up on Reddit over the weekend from a poster who said he found the game in Brazil. The game does look pretty exciting, according to VG 24/7, which notes that the cover features actress Summer Glau as a Terminator. But the best part is that this copy of Grand Theft Auto 6 runs on the PlayStation 2. That's not a typo.

VG 24/7 opines that the game is almost certainly a copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas with some crazy mods thrown in. Indonesia is apparently infamous for creating GTA bootlegs and it's likely this copy found in Brazil originated from there. For what it's worth, there have been reports that the real Grand Theft Auto 6 is in pre-production at Rockstar, but that game likely won't be out for years. Rockstar is putting most of its resources for 2017 into working on the highly anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2, which releases this fall.

As for Grand Theft Auto V, there's plenty of new content to explore if you haven't fired up the game in a while. The latest updates for Grand Theft Auto Online from Rockstar added a new vehicle and Adversary Mode as well as plenty of new customizations for various vehicles. An additional Vehicle Vendetta mode added a few weeks ago adds power ups that players can drive through to transform their cars into a Rhino tank and much more.

Mod makers have also been quite busy adding to GTA V's already massive list of optional additions. The most popular mod this week is one that adds the Green Goblin from Spiderman fame to Los Santos. But perhaps the most interesting GTA V mod is one that's actually not out yet. A few weeks ago a group of modders called the Open IV team announced they are working on a mod that will add the entirety of Liberty City to Grand Theft Auto V. The project sounds like it might just be big enough to hold players over until GTA 6 gets here for real.

Grand Theft Auto V is out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
