The rumored actor portraying the leaked character Jason in Grand Theft Auto 6 has been trolling fans on social media. The massive Grand Theft Auto 6 leak from last year revealed all kinds of details about Rockstar's open world game, including what the protagonists look like. While the Grand Theft Auto 6 footage that was leaked online was still of the game in its early stages of development, it did show two protagonists that players will apparently be able to play as in the final product. Notably, one of the characters is the first major female playable character in a main series GTA game. The second character spotted in the big GTA 6 leaks was someone named Jason.RELATED: Grand Theft Auto 5 Trevor Actor Comments on GTA 6Not only were the GTA 6 protagonists leaked by the footage, but fans were quick to figure out which actors would be portraying them. According to the rumors, Jason is being portrayed by Bryan Zampella, and the actor has seemingly acknowledged this through Instagram posts. Zampella's Instagram is full of images that are seemingly designed to troll GTA fans, including one where he is wearing a Hawaiian shirt near some palm trees ala Tommy Vercetti from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and another where he is dressed in what is nearly the exact same outfit Jason was wearing in the leaked GTA 6 footage.

The timing of these troll posts has given some fans hope that a big Grand Theft Auto 6 reveal will be happening sooner rather than later. Sony is hosting its PlayStation Showcase event on Wednesday, May 24, so some think that the reveal will happen at the show. Grand Theft Auto reveals have been tied to PlayStation events in the past, so there is some precedent, but fans shouldn't hold their breath.

Famously, the Rockstar Games logo appeared during one of the first PS5 showcase events, only for the big reveal to be yet another Grand Theft Auto 5 port. Considering this, perhaps Rockstar will be looking to make things up to PlayStation fans who felt tricked by the previous reveal, but the more likely scenario is that Grand Theft Auto 6 will have its own reveal independent of any kind of showcases.

The Grand Theft Auto 6 release date is expected to be some time in 2024 or 2025, so it seems a little early yet for the reveal to be happening. Even so, GTA fans may want to keep an eye on Zampella's social media channels in case he drops anymore potential hints about the game.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is in development.
