Grand Theft Auto 5 has managed to build on its initial success through constant updates from its developer and fans. The franchise itself has gone from strength to strength, but many players still have a nostalgic attachment to older titles. Fortunately for players who want to experience the maps of the old games, with up to date graphics, a new mod allows them to do just that.

Grand Theft Auto 5 was released six years ago and has managed to prosper on two generations of consoles. Of course, the Grand Theft Auto games that preceded paved the way for its success, and while GTA V was a significant evolution in the franchise it continued to provide a huge open-world game with an action-based set of missions that players were familiar with from other installments. The new mod allows players to revisit the familiar open-world territory of Vice City with updated graphics.

The mod by lunchxbles allows players to access a beautiful looking Vice City that utilises the graphics of GTA V. The map seems to be the same and the neon 80s aesthetic looks incredible in 2020. It should be noted that the mod doesn't allow players to do the original missions and missed side quests, instead players can explore the original map. Furthermore, players may need to download additional mods to enjoy this experience. Nevertheless, this mod is an impressive achievement and will be a must for players who enjoy 80s aesthetics or have nostalgic memories of Vice City.

There are rumors that GTA 6 would be set in Vice City and this mod will certainly convince players that Florida is an ideal place for the upcoming title. The work put into this mod is undoubtedly striking and although missions can't be replayed, many will enjoy causing chaos on the streets of Vice City once again. For players who missed the original title, this may be the perfect opportunity to play the game without adjusting to old graphics.

While there are plenty of theories about GTA 6, very little has been confirmed. This mod may lead to players rallying for a new title-based in Vice City, but many more will want completely new regions as it has been a long time since Rockstar has offered a completely fresh map. Time will tell whether Rockstar can deliver another excellent game in the near future, but for now, players can enjoy the history of the games with this stunning mod.

Grand Theft Auto V is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
