About a month ago, the modders under the umbrella group name of New Home Cinema revealed the existence of the incredibly ambitious Space Mod for Rockstar Games' open world crime title Grand Theft Auto 5. Now, the modders have officially announced that their out-of-this-world creation has gone live, with the team deciding to let gaming fans know of its availability by way of a brand new launch trailer that details its contents.

As seen below in the launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5's Space Mod, New Home Cinema's mod features three different moons to explore, as well as 11 different planets that players can touch down on. Not to mention, there’s also a story line that will connect these areas together, but it's not organized in the standard mission structure style found in the base game, with the mod developers explaining it as “more of a platform for experienced developers to integrate scripts/maps and other things into the DLC in order to create content and expand the community experience.”

Considering the fact that the glut of content from Grand Theft Auto 5's Space Mod has been made from such a small development team, it's impressive to say the least. Of course, this isn't New Home Cinema's first rodeo, as the modders have previously put together such ancillary assets as a Batman Batcave mod, a Lamborghini Huracán mod, in addition to a mod that brings the Uncharted franchise's Nathan Drake into the game.

While New Home Cinema has several mods under its belt already, it's safe to say that the modding group's Space Mod for Grand Theft Auto 5 is their most sumptuous and sizable creation yet. Naturally, with such a huge project that reaches for the stars behind them, fans are already interested to see what other GTA 5 mods the team has in store for the future, or if the group will branch out to other games.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is available now for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, but the Space Mod is only available for the PC platform.
