Grand Theft Auto 5 Release Date Feature

It is exactly a week until those those who have pre-ordered copies of Grand Theft Auto V will finally get to move into Los Santos. It was a mere five years ago that we were oogling over the vastness, size and detail of Liberty City, but since then, there have been rumors that the map for Los Santos would be as big as all the other GTAs combined. After a few questionable 'leaks' of the map, today saw another, and it looks pretty convincing.

Posted on Reddit by user GeENie, who suggested they came across the map early since the game and guides have started to arrive in stores this week. This of course is still not a conformation and it could be a well-produced fake, but it seems as if this the real deal. Several users have started trying to find landscapes in the trailer and verify their locations with the surrounding area. So far, it seems to fit.

Take a look (click for a closer perspective):

The map is clearly vast in size as expected, but it is worth nothing that it is not filled out with detail and locations. Judging by this map, it seems Rockstar have spent their money wisely in making a sprawling landscape. Mimicking real-life Los Angles, the fictional city of Los Santos appears to only account for about a quarter of the map. There are mountains surrounding the city, several airports, a golf course, the National Office of Security Enforcement, A power plant, a vineyard and an observatory to name a few features. As we have long suspected, that we won't be left wanting for things to do and explore.

There has been a splurge of news hitting on a daily basis for Grand Theft Auto V and expectations are at a fever pitch. Where are you most interested in exploring on the Los Santos streets? Do you want to stay inner city or go off-roading across the mountainous landscape? What other features on the map are you most excited about  visiting?

Grand Theft Auto V is out on September 17 on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
