Upon starting Grand Theft Auto 5, players have the choice to either load into the story mode or GTA Online. While story mode offers many dangerous missions, it is mild compared to the lobbies of GTA Online. The lobbies can consist of players out to ruin everyone's days, the raging alien wars, and worst of all, hackers.

Hackers can do anything from spawn in random objects to shooting cars from guns, and sometimes the only escape is to play story mode. Unfortunately, that has not been the case for a certain player who shared their experience on Reddit.

One player found themselves in story mode with some changes made to it. It appears that while roaming around the streets of Los Santos, the player looked up and realized the sky was covered in giant UFOs. It also appears that a giant orange ball is rolling through the street, causing NPC civilians to run in a panic.

Hackers have always been a problem in GTA Online, however, it seems to have slipped into story mode as well. This could pose a major problem with story mode and could cause missions to glitch or even being unable to access the story. Based on various Reddit comments, the glitch can be caused by leaving GTA Online and loading into story mode, in which the objects the hackers have created are left in the single-player world.

Many of the comments are players reporting the various objects they have been turned into, only to leave the lobby and still be an object in story mode. Several players say they have been turned into Mount Chiliad, the largest mountain in GTA 5. As ridiculous as it sounds, hackers are able to mod objects onto other players, thus making them appear as a giant mountain, airplanes, or anything else in the GTA world. There are plenty of ridiculous things to do online but players might have to avoid hackers.

Rockstar has tried to crack down on hackers and modders who exploit the game. Some harmless hackers create lobbies based on other games, or come up with competitive modes for a more intense challenge, while others cause problems for other players. Hackers can create some hilarious situations, however, some players would like to play online without the need to look over their shoulder for a giant UFO.

GTA Online has been an amazing feature for Grand Theft Auto, despite its problems. It allows players to have a deeper experience with the game. Players still have the choice to play online or story mode, however, switching from online to story mode may leave some hacked objects behind.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
