Fans and critics alike have been quick to criticize the release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition for its general lack of quality which has manifested in many different ways. From tweeting pictures of the bizarre character models found throughout all three titles to sharing their experiences on the infamous invisible bridge included in the San Andreas remaster, there have been plenty of critiques made towards the game, but one fan shared a video of a clip from GTA 5 where the characters critique the very same business practices that Rockstar used for the development of the definitive edition.

Posted to the sub-Reddit r/GTA, Reddit user u/FurryAuction shared a cutscene from Grand Theft Auto 5 where its three main protagonists kidnap a business executive and chastise him while he's tied up in the trunk of their car. They accuse him of being a part of the evil cycle of capitalism based on the way he outsourced his "dirty work" to a private company so that he can get away from crime completely clean while underpaying the outsourced company for maximum profit.

While there haven't been any reports of Rockstar underpaying Grove Street Games, the studio in charge of making Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, many fans view the remasters as a quick cash grab meant to capitalize on nostalgia and view the accusations included in the clip as something of a commentary on the way that Rockstar handled the remasters. A lot of fans are upset with the way that the studio outsourced the game's development to Grove Street Games, a small studio that had primarily worked on mobile ports up to this point.

It's impossible for the public to know one way or another how Rockstar actually thought of the remasters, but it seems like the studio is working to make amends for their poor reception. Between the announcement that the studio would be devoting plenty of resources to fixing the games and the relisting of the original titles on their digital storefront, it seems as if Rockstar understands that it needs to regain some trust for its fans.

This isn't the first time in recent memory that the studio has been met with controversy as the announcement video for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 was flooded with dislikes on YouTube as fans have grown tired of the constant ports that the game has received. At this point, many fans are just waiting until the release of GTA 6 to revisit the studio and its games, but based on the fact that there hasn't even been an announcement trailer for it yet, it seems like they might be waiting a while.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
