Rockstar Games likes to fill its vast open worlds with all kinds of Easter eggs for fans to discover, and Grand Theft Auto 5 is certainly no exception to that rule. Grand Theft Auto 5 has countless Easter eggs for players to find, to the point where players are still finding ones that they didn't know about years later. One Grand Theft Auto 5 Easter egg in particular has been getting attention again lately, as it seems many fans were unaware of its existence.

If players visit the cemetery in Grand Theft Auto 5 when playing as Franklin (it's possible that the Easter egg works with Michael and Trevor as well, but it generally seems to happen more often with Franklin), they will find a dog walking around by itself. If players follow the dog, it will lead them to a grave, presumably the grave of their dead owner. This is likely a nod to Greyfriars Bobby, a Skye Terrier from Edinburgh that spent 14 years visiting the grave of its deceased owner.

While this particular Grand Theft Auto 5 Easter egg has been known about for years, a TikTok account named hiddengamingdetails has thrust it back into the public eye. A TikTok showcasing the Easter egg has been over 200,000 times and has amassed nearly 45,000 likes and over 600 comments at the time of this writing.

This Grand Theft Auto 5 Easter egg is rather depressing, but there are others in the game that aren't quite so heartbreaking. For example, one Grand Theft Auto 5 Easter egg lets players spot an alien frozen in a lake, and there are plenty of Easter eggs that reference Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas as well.

Fans are still hunting down Grand Theft Auto 5 Easter eggs nearly a decade after its release, but hopefully Rockstar Games gives them something new to play soon. There are plenty of rumors about Grand Theft Auto 6, but nothing has been officially announced for the game just yet. Rumors and leaks suggest that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be set in Vice City and may feature both male and female protagonists, though fans should take any information about the game with a grain of salt for now.

While GTA fans wait for news on Grand Theft Auto 6, they can keep hunting down Easter eggs in Grand Theft Auto 5's story mode as well as GTA Online. Some think that they have even found GTA 6 Easter eggs hidden in the game, but that remains to be seen.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is out now for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
